    Not shaving today but I’m in for January, of course. Not doing a Rule, but will be doing a series of Focusses. I will join @Dave in KY in using a soap every 2nd day until it is done. Palmolive Menthol Cream will be the one and won’t it through the month for sure.
    I will also focus on dialing in my Yaqi Katana. I will make a decision on keeping it or not afterwards. Next up will be my DS Cosmetics R41 clone whenever it gets here. Same thing- will decide it is either One in or One out. I will probably do the same thing with my Gillette Injector after that.
    A third focus for the month will be using Rapira blades in everything that takes a DE blade. I am an unabashed fan of Russian Gillettes and have ignored my pile of Rapiras. I have Sharp Stars and Voskhods in bulk, and various other Rapiras in tucks.
    Let’s have a great month all!

    Jared turned me on to that a couple of years back, and said it's like The Veg. It chooses you, not the other way around. It's like shaving with a citronella candle. You'll never see a mosquito in the den when you use it.
    As Jared used to have in his tagline "Long Live The Sheep".
    Man, I miss that guy.

    Bruce, I was "chosen" by the Veg waaaaaaaayyyy back in 1980. I have lost my "taste" for it and, the Clubman/ED Pinaud fragrances. Moved on.

    Joseph, I am sorry but I couldn't help it. I did retrieve it back out of the can and proceeded with an experiment using David's suggestion. If it doesn't work I have not lost anything.

    I put in a small pan on medium/ low heat. I used a silicone spatula and keep it moving. I added a little water a couple if times and kept the soap moving. When it got to the consistency of thick mashed potatoes I put it in a container. The soap is real soft but we will see what happens.

    When I first acquired the R41, it tore me up regularly. It took a previous 30 Day Rule to tame it. From the results of today's shave, I clearly need this repeated rule.

    Yeah. Had the same issue and returned their inferior product. Basta. Primo does NOT tolerate granules. :rolleyes005: It's a sign of inferior soap making. My credo is: FIRST learn how to properly make a soap, THEN sell it to the public.

    Tabac is a great shaving soap, easily competes with any vintage or current soap or cream available. There’s just a few here not too fond of it's aroma. Happy New Year!
