    Greetings,

    (Open Comb DE Razor Week)

First Face & head shave of 2021.

After the long run with the Yaqi Katana razor i've decided to give my open comb razors a run out to start the new year off in style... Starting off with the assertive semi-open comb Muhle R41paired together with the Tiger Platinum blade which was another great match mowing through my stubble with effortless ease....I have mentioned before in my past postings what a wonderful efficient razor the R41 is now that i have vastly improved my technique & gained my shaving confidence when shaving with this wonderful assertive Fräulein...A very enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups close comfortable /near BBS shave with no errors to report.

My intended plan for 2021 , is to carry on adding soft & hardware items to my SOTD set ups that i haven't gave much attention to in the past and to try and curb my urges and make 'NO MORE' impulsive shaving related buying bouts this year. 'I always say the same thing,' but i'm going to do my best...with a few exceptions such as my birthday or if i really need it, which at this present moment in time i don't, so that'll be it for a good few months at least.
I've said this umteenth times "i've got what i need, not what i want"....I'm going try to keep to my word and start to appreciate more, and use up what i already have in my humble shaving den. Enough of my babble...
Having a vast variety of something isn't always a good thing, you can't appreciate it enough.

A wonderful shave to start the year off in style...Wishing you all good health peace, happiness and contentedness for 2021....Finishing the shave off with small dollop of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling devine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the first weekend of 2021 ladies & gentlemen.

  2. Good to you also, Sir.

Bulova makes such good stuff. What model reference denotes yours?

  3. Contentment lies within happiness sometimes.

Happiness is when we want what we have, it is not dependent upon having what we want.

Also... Never use a large word when a dimuntuve word would surely be sufficient.

Seriously though... Isn't the satisfaction of perfecting the process an amazing thing to experience?

  4. Thanks Chris. My Father always preferred Bulova back in the day. This watch is a Marine Star model. Picked it up used online for cheap. It came with the original metal bracelet and a few new Nato straps . The bracelet was sized at the smallest size and didn't come with the links he removed hence it was too small and useless now . Has a few signs of wear on it but I'm ok with that.

  5. Patina? Yes. Means it was an actual watch worn by someone. Very nice. It's about 7°Canadian and clear skies at 03:45. How is the nearby land the Maple Leaf this morning?

  6. Roja Parfums are indeed fascinating. Well beyond my means, but I wouldn't mind giving some of them a sniffy-sniff.

IF---I had the choice of center AND JUSTIFIED, I would be ecstatic.

Until then, this will have to suffice.

  12. One of the founders of the 30DC claimed his entire collection of shave gear would fit in a coffee mug.

    Some folks get bigger mugs.

  13. Saturday January 2,2021
    Razor: Ever Ready Razor
    Blade: Gem (1)
    Brush: Rubberset 400/Oumo Boar
Soap: Lakewood Soaps SOCP (1508.5 Continues)
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Clubman Citrus Musk
    Fragrance: Penhaligon's Opus 1870

Back to the SOCP that the Oumo Boar whipped into a very good lather. Started wetter than normal and took a bit to get the lather where I wanted and had to go back to the tub for the 3rd pass. Doing the 1508.5 is keeping the soap from drying out between passes. I need to go at the brush load with a drier brush net time. 1st outing with this recent purchase from the popular auction site and felt smooth but not cutting well. After inspection of the blade I notice the top cap is wonky. I flip it open and close and it appears better. After a couple strokes the same inefficiency is noticed and I recheck the cap. Yep off again. After the smooth and satisfactory but unimpressive shave I inspected the head and see it has been severely bent and without some major hammering twisting bending......................yeah I'll never get it where it was intended so will just get another for the nice wood case it came with. Something tells me the seller knew the issue but I will give the benefit of the doubt. They aren't that expensive of a razor and I got it reasonable enough. Life goes on. Topped off with my Humphrey's, Clubman Citrus Musk and Opus 1870 so I can be ready for whatever the world sends my way. Have a swell day everyone !!

  15. While the justification of type maximizes the character per page yield, the required use of hyphenation falls short of artistic elegance IMO.
