  8. I don't post headshaves because they usually are a fait accompli. It's also more work for me to take pics, etc. I usually use the same setup with Cremo 99% of the time. The only time I will post a headshave is when I do an above the shoulder shave like I just did this evening or on the rare ocassion that I use a straight or a shavette on the dome.
  9. Thank you Blair on both counts!

  11. Thanks Danny! It is rare that I am doing plenty of DE shaves this month. I believe it will be the most that I've done since I parked here just over 2 yrs ago.

  13. Joseph @Primotenore had asked me yesterday for a pic explaining the snipped corners I put on the snapped blade to cut off the bent part.
Joseph, I hope this pic shows the bents from the snap line well enough and the small cuts I made to flatten the blade out sitting in the Katana:

  14. Thank you, gentlemen! I had determined the paint cracking was due to water causing some expansion, but I found it more irritating that it's happening just after two shaves with the brush. At least the knot is good. No, @b1hart , I have not stored it knot down, but I do always give all my brushes a good towel scrub after rinsing them out. Oh well, I just scored more experience points.

To make myself feel better, I do have my first badger brush made on the Isle of Man coming at the end of the month. I found it for about ~60% off retail last night. There will be no paint to contend with, but I hope the label is straight. :D
  15. It is recommended to store your brush upside down so that water doesn't get into the epoxy glue. If you don't have a stand, then lay it sideways on top of a puck container with all the bristles extended beyond the edge.

  16. You could also cut the ends like this.

  17. Great shave tonight with the Fatboy, badger brush, Tobac, and Captain's Choice Nor'Easter AS. A simple rinse before the AS and my wife was quite satisfied.. [IMG]

Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject
  18. I give my brushes a few good flicks and then towel dry. I let them dry knot up. Whatever small amount of water that remains capillary action will keep the base of the knot safe. Well, it works for me anyway.

  19. Good point, Danny. Those ends really aren’t doing anything.
