Quite welcome Charlie! If I remember, gloves too if you are using a hammer, just in case. You may also want to use a towel (that you don't want) to cover the handle before proceeding, it'll stop the flying pieces. You'll want to whack or clamp in a vise in the middle/bottom of the handle. I ruined one by a hit too close to the knot area, split the glue knot in half.

Just in! An Above the Tie aluminum SE1 head. It is used but in excellent shape. I already had the Calypso handle.
Charlie, I used a bench grinder and carefully ground the handle down to the knot in three place and pried the knot out. Hope this helps.
