I am familiar with George's Barbershop in Rocky Point. However, I could never imagine going back to a barber because I will always shave my head and face. I just can't see spending money on something that I can do myself. The exception would be if I grow back my goatee and I screw it up by not getting crisp clean edges and even then, I would just shave it off. I just love the thought of saving money by not going to a barber.
Day 9 of my January Rule Shave 7 Tuxedo Synthetic brush Col. Conk Glycerin based Bay Rum Soap Gillette C1 Flair Tip Personna Blue (1) Proraso Green toning lotion w/menthol & eucalyptus OT at work led me to miss my intended daily shave twice for my rule. I decided that a penalty was in order, so I gave myself KP duty. I wonder if this is enough ribs for a redemption. Anyhow, I have come to the realization that there is no foul in using a new blade for every shave. I have found that there was no loss in shave performance with new steel, even on a 3 day growth. And, think of all the accounting requirements you avoid with the little sharpie dots when you have gotten your Nacets up around 225. Liking Col Conk thickererer. If I like the ribs, I promise that I’ll try to get back with the program this week.
For me, a haircut is well worth the $$$$$, especially after my attempts at cutting my hair because my favorite shop was closed during the pandemic. Man was I happy to go back.
I like the fact of saving money too. I just miss my favorite part of the haircut which is the hot lather on the back of the neck and the straight razor removal. Of course, due to health concerns the barbers not longer use a strop and traditional straight. I understand it but miss it all the same.
