Very nice shave and an interesting assessment of the vintage AV. At least you did not say it smells like an old ladies pocketbook or purse. Hope you had a good day at you Marine meeting and manage not to get a verbal drubbing.

Great shave, Myles. I can't imagine your leadership having any problems with the quality of your shaves. If he's smart, he'll have you teaching your unit how to shave the right way.

Congrats on your PT scores. I am very proud of what you are accomplishing this year. I will be praying for your safety and wisdom as you transition into serving our country full time. Thank you, my friend.

Thanks very much, gentlemen. I appreciate the kind words.

Joe, it's cool to have a Jayaruh brush made out of Louisville Slugger bat wood. It's extra special for me as the bats are made here in my hometown. What you see regarding Louisville's portrayal in the media over the past few months has not been good, but that's not the whole story. It's not perfect, but it's a great place to live, and I'm proud to call it my home. I've floated the idea of moving south to my Bride, but it ain't gonna happen. :)

Much appreciated Charlie, hope this 2021 brings a great year for you and your bride, along with the others here :) I will agree, something as simple as shaving is important but fun (wet shaving in this case) Personal appearance and proper grooming is a key important thing the Marine Corps upholds, you are taught to conduct ones self in a professional manner, especially when in uniform. All grooming/shaving standards will apply. no excuses. People tend to judge off of personal appearance. One thing I have learned about the Marines is that promotion opportunities are based on how you carry yourself. Something as small as being clean shaven shows you have pride in what you do.

Had an evening shave after a productive day. Switched out the Swedish Supersteel for a Platinum Lux to keep the Rapira focus going. Note to self- don’t try to talk to SWMBO while shaving with this razor. Got myself really badly on the chin. Multiple dabs with the styptic didn’t dam the Nile. Went old school- Spent the evening with a chunk of tissue paper on the red.
Finished with English Leather- Not sure if I’ll keep it but am surprised it didn’t elicit a response from my wife, even in the family room together for movie night. Interesting.
    Have a good night all.

    Shaving Recipe For the day.

Prep: Warm shower / Cussons Imperial Leather ~ Arctic Ocean & Icelandic Moss Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Yardley ~ English Lavender Bar Soap + Nuage Menthol shaving Oil.
    Brush: Semogue 1438.
    Face Lather.
Lather : Williams Mug Shaving Soap.
Blade: Gillette ~ 'NOS 94' Super Silver Platinum. (2)
Razor: 1950's Gillette Ball End Tech. (US)

    Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade (~Winter mix~) peppermint lavender eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Witch Hazel Mixture./Williams ~ Aqua Velva ASL. (Spanish Version.)/Wilko ~ Men's Moisturiser.

    Greetings,

    A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

My fondness for this classic old school Love/Hate in-expensive Williams grows with each shave....The post shave feel it delivers is superb.

My vintage Gillette ball end tech performed with excellence and paired up wonderfully with the NOS 94' SSP blade resulting in an enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Wilko ~ Men's Moisturiser.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

Due to Lockdown number 3 i won't be returning to the mill tomorrow, i have been furloughed for another 6 weeks, after that a 3 day week shift pattern comes into action until the work orders pick up in the coming months...It turns out i will be on permanent day shift for the foreseeable year... Still not the best of circumstances but, i still consider myself very fortunate as, some of my work mates have been paid off which make feel extremely sorrowful.

First & foremost the health safety, and wellbeing of myself & fellow workers comes before any job. Without us the mill wouldn't produce which is something our production manager doesn't want to hear or see. 'Some people listens, but don't hear because they don't want to'.

    Yours-Barry.

Great shave Barry and sorry about the co workers. Glad you are hanging in there.

    Razor: Gillette Big Fellow
    Blade: Wizamet (4)
    Brush: Rubberset 400/Oumo Boar
    Soap: Lakewood SOCP (1508.5 Continued)
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: CHH Tobacco
    Fragrance: Amouage Sunshine Man

So going thru older than 50 years Gillette's on TSD has me pulling the Big Fellow out today and had a great smooth comfortable shave with a Wizamet blade on shave 4. The Boar has been the choice lately beating up on the SOCP 1508.5 that is progressing nicely although I see no doughnut hole as of yet. I don't know why I grabbed the CHH Tobacco which was a generous gift from Ken (Fluffy) other than I like it and it seems to go with nearly anything you want to pair it with. I'm not sure how he acquired this but I'll need to brush up on my German if I want to order any more when it runs out. No one on zoom services today will know I'm "That Guy" today as I am sporting Sunshine Man today and it is STRONK. Have a great day everyone !!
