Spicy Sunday for the WIN! The GameChanger .68 plate series for the tool of choice. Prep: Hot Shower and Bloom/Lather Building Water Soap: Stirling Spice Razor: RazoRock GC .68 Series(Jaws, OC, and SB)/Merkur Mustache and Eyebrow Razor Blade: Kai (1)/Merkur Mustache and Eyebrow Blade (No Idea) Brush: Zenith Boar AS: Old Spic Classic (US) ASB: Stirling Spice ASB EdC: Old Spice Classic (US) I scraped some of the Stirling Spice into the bottom of my Captains Choice Heavy Copper, poured some hot water over it while I showered. I poured the bloom water into the VdH bowl with fresh hot water to build the lather from. That lather got slick, thick, and creamy. This is one of my favorite shaves of the week. I can't get enough of it. Between Sundays and Wednesdays I do not know which is my favorite shave of the week.
Game Changer 0.84 Jaws on a Dscosmetics titanium handle. Loaded with a Feather....what a great combo!
Just to bump the thread a bit. Used the GC .84 OC for this mornings shave. Simply a pleasure to use this razor. Married it up with the King C. Gillette Platinum blade and smooth sailing. Heck of a razor and for the money, can’t complain one bit. It’s not a Wolfman, BBS-1 or any of the other great artisan producers with quality made upscale razors like Timeless, Blackland, Tatara, Paradigm and a slew of others. Yet, it’s still made of 316/316L Stainless cut to precision tolerances that are practically equal to those mentioned. They GC series sports a high quality tumbled semi-polished look that won’t reflect your pearly whites in the morning but, it’ll leave you with a shit eating grin on the quality of shave it will give you for a fraction of the costs the high end tools deliver. I have a few high priced shavers in my den, well north of the $200+ price point and they deliver the looks and the performance. The Gamechanger though truly gives them a run for the money in shave performance and make up. Affordable and well made tools that any man would have no qualms in owning. I know I don’t.....
DE SOTD, Thurs, Mar 11th 2021, Mostly Razorock shave today with a big smile for being spoiled. Razor: Razorock all Stainless steel Game changer.84- MFG 2018>, excellent <mid range, very smooth, I like a Kai blade in this razor for excellent shaves. Blade: Kai SS (8) Excellent blade, Sharp & smooth with good longevity, wider than standard Gillette blade by .009 thousands of a inch or .00045" per side for more blade feel, nice in razors that are milder and will give a nice boost in blade exposure if desired. Soap: Razorock "The Dead Sea", great scent, excellent lather qualities with good post shave feel. Brush: Razorock Plissoft 24mm, excellent lather generator, soft tips with excellent scrub & excellent lather painter, Oldest synthetic I have in my collection of synthetics with years of service with no let downs. Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave: Razorock "The Dead Sea" after shave with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm. Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my RR GC.84 with a excellent Kai SS blade. Have some excellent shaves! Stay & think safe in these times!
