It was named after Dr. Joseph Lister.

I’ve read a book about him. It’s remarkable how much it took to convince other doctors that this was a good idea.

I am 1 bar type of guy no shampoo at all. Right now I am using Grandma's Pure Lye Soap but also use Kiss My Face olive oil soap. Rinse then finish it off with some apple cider vinegar to soften the hair afterwards before a second rinse, dry and brushing.

I use Stirling shampoo bars in the shower and to style my hair I make my own pomade which essentially consist of bees wax, shea butter, a little olive oil, a little arrowroot powder to give it a matte finish, and a little essential oil or fragrance oil.

The week or so before I go to get a haircut and my hair is getting wavy I use a small dab of Clubman Styling Gel (green stuff). I rub it into my hands and then run my hands through my hair. Looks completely natural but keeps things from getting wild!

My favorite blend up until now has been eucalyptus and spearmint. I've also used cedarwood and lavender. I just made a batch Sunday and used a fragrance oil clone of Creed Aventus. This is now my favorite.

@Scott Strangfeld I love eucalyptus & spearmint. I add lavender to that blend. The 3 together make my favorite blend. I hadn't thought of cedar wood & lavender.

Tomorrow I'll put Stephan Styling Gel in my hair. Smells nice. I've used it before.

I've used shampoo + conditioner all of my life, then for styling I'd just crunch my hair with some styling powder nothing fancy

I’ve always used shampoo and conditioner. Nothing fancy. In fact right now I’m using Amazon’s brand. It’s ok. Nothing special. While I was working (now several years ago) I would wear my hair suitable for corporate banking. And I would use some hair gel to keep it from being all frizzy. My choice of hair gel was Pinaud Clubman’s styling gel in a tube. But having been semi retired I’ve been pursuing my amateur drumming career and have since grown my hair long. So now I just wet it a little and put it in a pony tail. So just the shampoo and conditioner for me right now.

When I had hair I washed and then brushed it. No product of any sort. Sadly, I’m the first in my family (on either side!) to wind up with a Friar Tuck. Maybe I should have used stuff in my hair

When I m looking for a slick wet look, it's Groom & Clean gel for me. It really holds the hair down nicely and stays wet looking all day.

For a more natural look, I go with Brylcreem, which is a cream. A little dab'll do ya!:happy088:

    Old school, eh?:D

I usually start with Paul Mitchell Awapuhi shampoo and conditioner...recommended by my Bride and the gal that cuts my hair.

I follow with a small amount whatever gel or pomade I have. Layrite Original is a favorite because it holds well. I work it in, comb my wet hair, and them comb it again once dry. I'm good 'till the next day. At least I think so. ;)

When I get my haircut, the ladies don't like gel or conditioner in it-makes it tougher for them to,cut. I might as well look like a long-hair hippie freak going in, they're going to cut it anyway. :)
