It has been said here many times. @JACarbone likes to stir the pot. I wish he'd just follow my lead and stay on topic.
Thank you,Danny...The situation at work, is what it is unfortunately. ..Have a great week. Yours-Barry.
Monday January 11, 2021 Razor: Gillette Aluminum Tech (Made in England) Blade: Gillette Spoiler (1) Brush: Burma Shave Boar circa 1979 Soap: Tonsorial Williams AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70 AS 2: Vintage Aqua Velva Fragrance: Acqua Di Gio Profumo Today was another Gillette shave. As I said this was a gift from my Stepfather and had everything except the razor which he lost long ago. The best I could figure out researching was a Made in England Aluminum Tech would have been the standard fare they put into these sets that sold. So I decided to go all vintage except the Fragrance. Tonsorial Williams whipped up with my non-branded Burma Shave Boar brush bought by me back in 1979. Great lather and stupendous shave was had while giving the extra attention needed to get all the stray whiskers that try to hide from this mild shaver. Topped off with my Humphrey's, Vintage Aqua Velva and the Profumo. This was an enjoyable and refreshing shave to start the week and work. Have a Stellar day Everyone !!
Good Morning everyone! well today is the first day back to class off of break. Posts from me on here may be limited depending on my work/study level for this semester and including the first few weeks. Had a great break of reading up on people's posts here, unfortunately I didn't get to everyone but such is life. Hope everyone has a great day and week! Although when times get stressful I'm glad I can come to the good people over here as I did that last semester when things got stressful and it helps so I am very appreciative of this!
SOTD MONDAY MORNING, Day Two Gillette Focus 01/11/21 Since I have a medical procedure today, it’ll have to be short and sweet. Up early today for my shave. Selected my 1959 Gold British Rocket and loaded it with a Kai blade which has seems to bring out the best in my Gillette safety razors. And this morning was no exception! The two pass shave was clean, close and velveteen, just the way I like it. The dome shave featured my vintage Tungsten Steel St. Louis Shumate 5/8 which possesses an incredibly smooth shaving edge. Three slow, steady passes left me cool, clean and smoothly velveteen. RAZOR: Shumate 5/8 (Mug), Gillette Gold British Rocket [1959] (Dome) BLADE: Kai DE PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 Tribute with 24mm Silvertip Badger Ferrule SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Chiseled Face Natural AS Splash.
