January 11th Gillette Goodwill w SharpStar (1) APShaveCo mixed/Poculi Mike's Cedar, Orange & Pepper SS Thayers CL Gratiot League Sq AS Had a nice shave about 5 hours ago, but no chance to post until now. Pulled out the Goodwill for Gary's Gillette focus this week. I thought 'what can be more basic than a razor that was given away for free'? Just buy a tuck of blades and this depression-era parts mash up beauty was yours. It didn't come with Evan's gold jacket on back then of course. It was the selling strategy Gillette employed with carts, only 50 years earlier- give the razor away (or charge very little) and make a mint off of blades. Still going with the Rapira focus, so a Sharp Star was loaded in. Got a great lather in a pleasant enough scent and had 3 very nice passes. Had to worry a bit about not opening up my chin cut from Saturday night, but did navigate that successfully. Smooth and efficient on all accounts. Finished with the nice GLSq, which was a nice bow on top. Have a great day all!
