Thanks Myles. I've finished quite a few soaps, but this is the only empty container I have saved. It's a good size, and the lip around the lid makes it easy to remove. It initially contained LPL, which was a good soap. I can see why you are speechless, Jason. I bet your coworkers and family were thankful for that today. Thanks Gary! Thanks Jeff. I haven't heard from Neal, but I hope he returns soon. I'm glad everything went well today, my friend. Rest well tonight. Leave it to @Primotenore to be fashionably late. Now, there's the Jeff we know and love. Thanks Joe! Thanks Clint!
Awesome shave Andrew! You don't get to see many people bring out the black tip over here, nice to see it's getting some love!
Here’s the lowdown on the Red Tip, Paul. I’m going to try to post a write-up about it this week. In a nutshell, I’ve had it for about a year. Since then it’s only been used for about three shaves, until this week. It’s a fine razor, and works as it should. I’d rate it as user grade, or slightly better. Some of the red paint on the bottom knob is worn off. The plating on the rest of the razor is in good shape. There are a few minor surface imperfections, which can be expected from a razor of this age. My goal is to get this razor into someone’s den where it will get used and enjoyed. This razor means absolutely nothing to me, and TTO (twist-to-open) razors just ain’t my jam. It’s too nice to have it merely reside in a drawer until I croak and get tossed into the crisper. If you choose not to accept the offer, I understand, and it’s ok. Someone else from the 30DC will become the new owner. Again, I just want this razor to live in a loving home. I also have a few single-edge razor options that may be of interest to you, since they’re a *little* more similar to cart razors. If using a DE razor seems a little daunting, maybe one of these would trip your trigger. No, they weren’t made in 1957....but, they’re more forgiving, and still considered to be “real razors” in the world of wet shaving.

Jan 11 SOTE Good evening guys! 1961 Gillette Fatboy First Qtr (9) Rockwell DE Blade (2) Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush Stirling Bay Rum SS and AS Dickenson's Unscented WH (not pictured) Nivea for Men ASB (not pictured) Whiskers: 30 hours This is the exact setup as yesterday's shave. The Omega 49 boar brush did an excellent job creating a creamy, slick lather. I am really enjoying my new way of lathering for the cold months. The hot water treatment really is making my shaves feel great. Two passes without any drama gave me a near BBS shave. Did my usual post shave routine of witch hazel, balm and double portion of the aftershave. My skin looks super and I smell great! Have a great evening guys!
