Thanks for the video, Dave. Was able to watch the first few minutes anyway. You and I build lather very similarly, I think. Do you feel the blade 'holder' part of that razor would loosen up over time given that it is plastic? Curious to see you removing and putting on your glasses with the cheek passes as well.

Your machinery props the past few days have been really cool, Danny. Like you, I find the prewar Techs do very well with really sharp blades like a Feather. If you have Nacets, those are another great blade for the Tech.

Glad to hear you got some rest last night, Clint. That OREN is such a unique looking razor. A question- do you actually need to loosen those screws to load a blade every time? Is it a hassle?
The Mike's is a quality lather, no question. I like the nice, wide tubs as well, but the pressure fit cap on mine is really tight. First world problems, I suppose...

A great write up on the history of that razor company, Jeff. Since you use a lot of really old straights, do you find that there are different eras with superior steel quality, or design, or is it a matter of wanting to try razors from the 19th century?

Thank you Jason. The screws on the OREN are used to change the different plates. There are 3 plates like the Supply Co. I am using the 2 dot plate now. To load a blade you insert if from the rear and pull down the center of the blade. The blade springs back to lock in place as you push forward. Mike's now uses plastic containers that I have yet to try

Thanks Jason, I don't think it would as the shape and direction it slopes downward towards the front of the razor seems it would maintain the pressure. Could always print another head if over a long time it changed. I had an OREN and the screws are only for changing heads. The blade just slides in and 2 tabs catch it. Razor comes with a tool to remove the blade.

Scratch that, Clint covered it. :)

No worries Dave. I lost the blade tool so finger nail works just as well.

Always like the looks but the bulky head caused me to sell it.............I miss it's quirkiness sometimes.

I really like the floating blade design. It shaves a lot like a OneBlade which is one of my favorite razors. The head is somewhat bulky but it has not bothered me that much.
