I was pretty excited using a Feather blade in my Dovo shavette for the very first time. The reason is that I would be using what is considered the sharpest blade and most difficult shavette in unison. You really need to bring your A to A+ game for this event.
My 1A brush really did a great job producing a rich, creamy and slick lather. I just enjoy my new lathering method because it really makes my shaves that much better for me. I only needed two passes for a BBS - shave. I took a little longer and was a little more cautious during the shave. However, I received a weep on my left side of my lower chin at the point where my neck meets it. I also got some irritation on my mid lower neck. I don't often shave there so I figured that area is not used to an open blade and I may have had a slightly steeper angle than it should have been. Anyway, I am very satisfied with this shave and that I know that I know that there isn't any need to fear a Feather blade. As long as my technique is on point, then I should not have any problems.
I finished the shave applying the Dickenson witch hazel, the Nivea aftershave balm and Stirling's Bay Rum aftershave, respectively. There was very little burn from the aftershave and that signifies to me that it was definitely a smooth, close and conlmfortable shave. I will continue to use the Bay Rum soap for subsequent shaves until it is gone. Have a great day guys!
