  1. Thanks for the encouragement Jeff! I probably would be able to shave just using my right hand. However, I may do just a left hand straight shave for Mayhem May. That's if I'm brave enough or more likely foolish enough. Lol!

  4. Interesting read of reviews makes me wonder if I have the earlier version EdT as it smells like what they're describing. I'll have to research my numbers on the bottle and see if I can figure it out.

  5. He just turned around a plowed his return into two beautiful NOS Japanese razors, a Hoshi Tonbo 8000 (asymmetrical traditional Kamisori grind) and a Daishi Tamaghane steel razor. Two great Japanese razors for a modern artisan razor that he wasn’t really using. But then again, most of his non-Japanese straights are going on the block or to fellow amateur bladesmiths.
  6. Thanks, Dave! Did you listen to the Wilburys? Great music!

  10. Great shave report, Danny! I have a 2011 R41. Would you think there’s much difference in the shave between the SS clone head and the regular chrome R41?

  15. Hey, Joe, it’s not an experiment, just a simple observational comparison! There wouldn’t really be any true reliability or validity unless there was random assignment, blinding, levels, and an n of at least 15. ;) (retired biostatistician)

  16. Great shave photo and summary, Jason! My recommendation is to always go with sharp in the R41. You should whip out a Nacet or a Feather since your attentional focus sounds spot on! ;)

  17. Lovely shave photo and report, as always, Maestro! With respect to the 2011 R41, I can only reference the experience with mine. “Sharper is better” has always been my credo with that safety razor. I agree completely that technique will balance out any blade choice. Since focus is a fundamental requirement for the use of this razor, sharper is just easier, and honestly, if you want a real kick, you should try a Kai blade in yours! As a straight shaver, you will enjoy the very slightly increased blade feel over a Feather, which is my regular DE goto.
  18. I’m having the same experience up here in PA, We’ll see if sleepy Joe can deliver on his promise of more accessible vaccine after tomorrow!
