The Yaqi Sagrada familia (tuxedo knot), was a brush i was extremely excited to try. I was very lucky to get one sent to me by Yaqi South Africa for review purposes, and this brush definitely didn't disappoint, I think its absolutely fantastic that we finally have great value for money internationally available shave brushes in South Africa. I was quite surprised at how well this brush performs. Being a die hard boar brush fan, at first I wasn't sure how this brush would perform compared to my other synthetic brush, the Yaqi black marbled handle (plissoft knot). Both brushes are equally fantastic in different ways, and i find myself reaching for both depending on what I'm after on a particular day. The Sagrada Familia's tuxedo knot has a bit more scrub than the marbled handled brush with the plissoft knot, but quite remarkably it achieves this while retaining the silky soft tips and the backbone I love so much in a good shave brush. I absolutely love that there's no break in period with synthetics with absolutely no shedding, and how quickly they dry, perfect for if you're traveling or live in humid areas near the coast and want your brushes to dry out as quickly as possible. The plissoft knot is a pinch softer, but only a pinch. I prefer the tiny bit of extra scrub this brush offers overall. The Sagrada Familia's handle is absolutely stunning both aesthetically and in actual use, and the size of the handle makes its absolutely perfect for travel. The Sagrada features a full sized 24mm tuxedo knot, but the short stubby handle makes it a lot more compact than some competing brushes on the market, as well as some of the other brushes in the Yaqi range. Overall I think this brush is a very solid option for both new and veteran wet shavers, the combination of quality and value for money is very hard to beat, and I'll definitely keep this brush in my brush rotation for years to come.
