  2. Gary, but my Dad got me interested in watches when I was a kid. He would purchase used Seikos from pawn shops near Ft. Knox. Most of 'em cost around $25 used at the time. Most of them came home with the troops from Vietnam. Sometime around the fourth grade, I started wearing these different Seikos to school, and I always made sure to show my teacher what I was rocking on my wrist. I'm sure she thought I was a piece of work. :) I've been a Seiko fan ever since. Sadly, all these watches got sold over the years. I sure wish I had a few of them. I get sick every time I visit a Seiko watch forum and see some of the same old beauties (that I no longer have) still being worn.

I cannot begin to tell you how many different Seikos have been produced over years. I'm sure it's in the thousands of models. They share a lot of common features under the hood, but the designs are different. It's sort of like what Ford did with the 289 engine and Chevy with the 350. It's truly an iconic brand. Total thumbs up here on that Seiko 5. Get at least two. Mos Def. :)
  3. Last time I checked, none of us signed up for a watch NB. I stand ready to assist you with your next timepiece. Several of my 30DC brothers have succumbed to my watch enabling. :)

  5. A lot of watch guys service their own watches. This guy has a crazy cool collection of watches, and he has designated one as his work beater. He does his own work on it: https://www.watchwallpapers.com/beaterren.htm

    Good evening guys!

    Straight Razor Shave #239
5/8 Wostenholm Full Hollow Sq Pt
    JR #290 Synthetic Brush
Stirling Bay Rum SS and AS
    Dickenson's Unscented WH ( not pictured )
Nivea for Men ASB ( not pictured )
    Whiskers: 33.5 hrs

The JR synthetic does a great job lathering and tonight was no exception. With my new lathering method and with hot water, my lathers are very creamy and slick.
Did 2.5 passes to get a BBS - shave without any drama.
Finished with my usual post shave routine. I am getting close to putting this soap to rest. I always liked the Stirling Bay Rum scent, but I will eventually want to try some other brands once I whittle down my inventory. I will say that I will probably not buy any soaps this yeat because I have more than enough. I still declare that I am not on the NB list for 2021.
Lol! I smell clean and have a smile on my face.
Have a good evening guys! 20210121_192230.jpg

  18. Yes I have. Also, I have taken the dry brush to a towel for about ten minutes at a time to begin the splitting of the hairs. Works well if you have the patience.
