  1. You've got some dandy watches, Jim. I actually like the older ones the best. Your models are incredibly popular and are considered "cult classics" by Seiko fans. Super cool. Hang on to 'em and enjoy them for many years! :eatdrink047:

  5. I'm glad you liked the Tabac, Myles. It can take a ton of water, and the just lather keeps getting better. I love to joke with everyone here about Tabac, but the scent works for me, and it lathers better than any soap I've used. I find myself adding more water to the brush tips during the shave and refreshing the lather already applied on my face. You'll quickly get the hang of how much water to add to yield the lather consistency that you prefer. Tabac shave sticks work great in your travel kit too. If you watch the on-line vendors, even the ones on Amazon, you can find some pretty good deals on the sticks.

  7. If Elvis wore Brut (which I've always heard he did, the man loved it so much people would smell him before he entered a room) then it's automatically good!

  8. I see you got the matching aftershave(EDT?)for your Midnight Stag. There's that classic E word again(eschew...great for SAT practice).

  9. Patrick, I grated MWF and pressed it into a shave stick. I face lather, and it actually worked fine for me after that. I just like to give @jgreenepa some grief. ;) That was when I first started traditional shaving. I'm sure it would lather fine for me now.

I actually have several bars of MWF bath soap on standby for use as pre-shave face soap. You can't argue with the skin care from lanolin, and I'm curious to see if MWF bath soap is as slick as (my favorite so far) Stirling Sheep (bath) Soap. I'm currently using some Stirling Honey Oatmeal Shea Butter bath soap for my pre-shave...good stuff and smells good, but a little too scrubby for me.

  11. That was great, Charlie....I'll keep coming back to it. The first thing for me to lock down is to crank up the lather-whether from soap or can. And you're right-there's plenty of soap here to guide me to an NB. Aftershave?. Well, that is a horse of a different persuasion, I'm afraid. I'll see how the year goes.

The back-and-forth is all in good fun. If we're not teasing each other about soaps choices, it would be something else. And I fully agree on your observation regarding sophistication. There's no way I can compete with the your Yankee upbringing and schooling.

  13. I love the after feel from the Fat but the whole song and dance before the shave is not my tempo.

  17. Here's a little known fact, Paul.

According to Merriam-Webster, eschew is spelled eeeeee! shoo! when Clubman is used for the post-shave.
