@b1hart Yes. This time. It's almost a year this soap has the "death ring". @jgreenepa Nope. https://theshaveden.com/forums/posts/1923294/ https://theshaveden.com/forums/posts/1923301/ @clint64 The stone has its actual colors.
Sounds good, Bill. I'll get it off to you, and will shave with it upon its return. I have not touched it. So I can't speak for the bevel. I would be glad to also send along to you my Simmons Hardware 4/8, if you promise not to touch the edge. I really like the edge on that razor, and it is reflective of the edges I put on my razors when I refresh them. I'll touch it up before sending it to you. Please only do your convex hone thing on the Smith Bros. If you can accept those conditions we're in business.
Thank you, Joseph. Yes, Kathy and I both like this one. I'm still catching whiffs of the scent several hours after application.
@Edison Carter - be sure to dip both of Jeff's razors in Tabac suds before you return them. Those two old beauties deserve a spa treatment.
Well it arrived all grimy and the silver plating worn or cleaned off the handle but the head while scratched a little is still intact. After a little cleaning with soap and water and some Bar Keepers Friend for the handle. Ready for shaving
We have an accord. And ignore that man behind the curtain, no Tabac in sight. If you send along the Simmons I’d love to try it....no edge touching. I will sanitize “blades only’ in barbicide before and after. I will also coat with ballistol (a safe to wash off, water miscible gun oil).
Nice work, Dave! It must feel good to have an old familiar tool in hand again! Let’s hope it shaves the way you remember!
Congratulations, Danny! I had 42 wonderful years with my first wife! I wish you both joy and happiness and 35 more, hopefully Tabac free years!
