  2. Good job Patrick and yeah Russian made stuff has issues. I have a Wizamet Adjustable Razor that works but has a stiff adjuster. Soviet era production wasn't like USA Gillette........

  8. So true Joe. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard, “Those who can do, those who can’t teach”
Under normal circumstances those parents would not even last one day in the classroom. Now, with the hoops we have to jump through with this hybrid learning they would have no clue.

  10. Although I've been keeping up with reading the thread this week, I have been slacking on posting my shaves for Mon-Fri.
I have used creams the past 5 days, lathering in a bowl and then sitting it on top of another bowl filled with hot water (my double boiler scuttle setup). The warm lathers have been wonderful and a unique feeling when also using a mentholated cream. It's been Gillette razors all week, along with Gillette 7 O'clock Super Platinum blades. All shaves have been 2+ passes, providing comfortable and efficient results with no irritation or mishaps.

I did take pictures though. Here they are:

  14. A great week, Andrew. The LC looks fantastic. I am intrigued by your previous reviews of the Epsilon as well. I see they have some other interesting sounding scents, in addition to this Floid Blue type.

Great shaves and pics this week Andrew. Dont worry about slacking off cause I probably hold that record. Sometimes life gets in the way :)

I meant wonderful...not wonder btw . He must be nose blind if he passed up on that classic scent . :). His loss ...your gain:D

    Greetings,

    (Face & Head Shave.)

A new shave set up to start the weekend....Maiden shave with the Ach Brito Mogno Shaving Soap a belated Christmas present to myself i ordered in between Christmas & new year which i have only got round to try out.
The verdict?...let me say straight off it's lathering performance is superb. I applied the soap like a shave stick to my face & head.. The Yaqi Faux Horse synthetic brush created a wonderful slick protective lather in a short space of time with no issues of drying out or dissipating inbetween each pass leaving a wonderful post shave feel to my mature mug & precious swede.
Scent wise to my nose it's a classic manly 'old school' clean aquatic/ woodsy fragrance, which isn't 'in your face' but enough to be present throughout the shave...All in all, a wonderful non-expensive shaving soap of which i highly recommend. I look forward to using it again in future shaves
It's been a while since i last shaved with the derby premium blade...When i first ventured into the wonderful world of traditional wet shaving i still remember the horrible experience with a derby extra blade which resulted in giving me a nasty bite i was a little apprehensive using the derby premium on my first use but after the first few seconds of starting the shave i now know if a blade is suited to my skin type the derby premium i find very smooth with no tugging issues with a smooth efficient edge, which is slightly different to it's sibling the derby Extra, however thinking back now, i'm 100% certain it was my lack of technique & shaving confidence that resulted in the nasty bite. Since then i have shaved with the Derby Extra's with no more nasty shaving experiences from them to date. The derby premium paired together very comfortably with the very efficient Ming Shi 2000s,using the lightest of touch, both the razor & blade was a smooth duo slicing through my face & head stubble with effortless ease ..A enjoyable close comfortable /near BBS face & head shave with no errors to report....Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Boots ~ Freshwood ASB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

  19. Great shave Barry and yep we all had those early times when poor technique was blamed on equipment. That's way behind you now. Had to google swede to learn you're a head shaver. :D Have a good day !
  20. Thank you Dave...I no guard buzzcut with my wahl hair clippers every week, and once a month i do a full 'Head/ Swede' shave.:D..it keeps everything nice and tidy with no fuss...Enjoy your day.
