Hello, everyone! I have been wet shaving since 2008 when my spouse got me into the hobby. She saw my wasteland of a face after I used my Norelco and showed me Mantic59's videos. Though it took a while to learn, the goodness of a great shave each time after made it worth the effort. I namely stick with a safety razor, though I have tried a straight a couple times (and am horrible using it). Here is my favorite shave story: A few years ago, during a out-of-town service visit for work, I found out my client made shaving brushes (lathed the handles and put in the brush), and he gave me a few ("Believe you me, you would be doing my wife a favor"), as well as a Bismarck straight razor, Gillette Fatboy safety razor, and some other shave creams to try out. His generosity brightened up my visit a ton, and it was great to meet another shaving enthusiast. The stuff he gave me replaced most of my current shave setup for the better, and I will always remember that visit. He also mentioned that he frequented this forum, so I felt it best to finally join. Here are my preferred items to shave with (at the moment): Gillette Fatboy safety razor (w/ Derby blade) Oscar11 handle with Plissoft Monster Synthetic (I think that is the brush?) Mr. Taylor's Shaving Cream Dirty Bird Pottery Shave Scuttle (Not shown) Nivea Men Post Shave Balm Thanks, have a great weekend, and happy shaving!
Great story! Welcome to The Shave Den! Until 2012, I was a 30-year Norelco user here too, with the sandpaper skin and neck irritation to prove it. Mantic59's videos are the best!
