Super shave Joe! Have a great day with the kids! I am off today so I will be able to do my normal everyday chores, etc.
That's my thoughts and why I refuse to use blades that require attention from me. No lousy 1st shave till I can enjoy, no palm stropping............. I just buy blades that work for me as they should. I'm not their final person on the assembly line completing their production I should start a list for myself like Joseph has @Primotenore Thanks Joe, you too !
Just another relatively quick 2 pass shave with Van der Hagen, Isana, Yaqi & TOBS. Got a nick. I don't always get a nick, but when I do it's always in the same spot.
Great looking photo Patrick. Sorry about the rough the shave. Be careful dealing with all the snow. Excellent shave report and photo Dave. Shaves that don't last are one of my pet peeves. Great photo and shave Joe. Good luck with the nuts on the commute. Beautiful photo Pierpaolo. I love the colors.
February 3, 2021 Tatara Masamune Feather Tatara/Semogue Boar AOS Lavender Shave Cream Fine Lavender Pour Homme Aftershave Happy Hump Day. Back to the mission of sinking the AOS Lavender cream. I will keep it short and sweet today. Three passes with touch ups tucked the baby in for the day. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, February 3, 2021 Today’s shave marked a return to my regular MWF. The shave was uneventfully excellent. The Eclipse Red Ring never fails to deliver an awesome noggin shave, and this morning gave practical testimony to that fact. Two slow, luxurious ATG passes was all she wrote. I just really enjoy this particular safety razor. People who bought Classic Shaving’s Occam’s DE a year or so ago can experience a comparable shave if they select the aggressive baseplate. I’ll be taking mine out for a spin tomorrow. The mug shave featured my A. Witte Copperhead 6/8. This 80 year old razor really holds an edge. I purchased it as NOS, and there was a note in the case stating “honed by Henerey 1939”. Out of curiosity I did shave directly off Henerey’s old hone and the shave was ok. I’ve since refinished it with my Naniwa 12k/jasper edge, and appreciate my edge more. In any case three passes with a very slight weep on my right cheek noticed on the blade which disappeared between the first and second lathers. I feel clean, refreshed and dolphin smooth. RAZOR: A. Witte Copperhead 6/8 (Mug), Eclipse Red Ring (Dome) BLADE: Feather DE PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil BRUSH: JT Sapele/Resin Handled Omega Pro48 Boar SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme AS Balm.
Veddy nice all around Clint. Are you trying to sink the AOS lavender because you don't like or just clearing the den or both?
Nice shaves Jeff! I would have had a glass of Hennessy to toast the original honer before beginning your maiden shave with the razor.
I don’t like the lip around the blade, Joe. It doesn’t shave like a straight does as the Adx version does. I replaced it with a Feather DX Kamisori.
You should start connecting with local MOLC Chapter members to organize breakfasts and lunches. The MOLC life require intense focus on leisure activities and advanced SWMBO mgmt classes.
Thank you Joe. I really like the AOS Lavender cream. I just picked the cream/soap with the least amount remaining to sink first. There will be others throughout the year. My goal is to thin out the den but to move away from creams etc to triple milled soaps.
