Thanks Joe, just another iteration of a 3D printed razor. Narrower head than my TNNSER but not as good a shave for me. Still a fun one to play with on the pass around. Have a great day!
February 3rd Karve D plate w PermaSharp (1) Omega Pro/ Poculi beehive Asylum/SV Colonia combo Thayers First use of the newly arrived brass Karve. For those who don’t know the history, I had promised myself a Karve if I completed a No Buy in 2018. Didn’t make it past August and have paid a 3 year self-imposed penance of not getting a Karve since. They are made about a 9 hour drive from here and I have seen the excellent reviews and posts ever since. There is some serendipity at play and here is my Karve as a result of another’s NB. I will eschew (@Primotenore !) the trash talk and just say thank you to the esteemed gentlemen from southern Kentucky. Whipped up a nice lather, although I do feel this SV soap’s reported 4.3 base is slightly different than the others I have. Anyway, had 3 very nice passes. Love the weight of this razor and am pleased with the handle length I chose. The cutting angle appears to be quite wide and easy to find. I am quite smooth. Maybe a little left on my lower right neck, but that would be unnecessarily picky. I would say that this D plate is a nice balance between being clearly efficient and smooth enough. A very good first day and I have already moved the SA 109 to the ‘for my son/for PIF/for a raffle’ drawer as a response. There are now 7 razors in said drawer. I need mon fils to pick a few and then move a few on. Have a great day all!
Another great Tatara shave, Clint! I hope the hearing aids work well for you! I was amazed when I first got mine at the range of frequencies I’d been missing out on. I was a lifelong bird hunter. Shotguns do impact the hearing!
February Focus AoS Sandalwood~~Simpson PJ2~~RR GC .84/Astra SP~~Creed Aventus Back on the focus-wagon with the AoS shave cream. Yesterday's soap was a prime example of what can happen with "blind buys". The soap, itself was very good, but the scent was not my cuppa tea, so, off it goes. Be careful 's, spend your money wisely. The AoS was fantastic and morphed into a lather of superior quality. Something made me choose the RazoRock OC Gamechanger... I loaded a fresh Astra SP and proceeded to shave. The balance and heft of the razor is excellent... The knurling on the handle is quite grippy... The blade is held tightly, zero flex/chatter... The fit 'n finish of the razor is high quality... My shave was extraordinary; BBS sans anything negative... I am going to go out on a limb here, friends and make this statement: I have owned a LOT of razors. Up to and including a Wolfman WR2. This RazoRock Game Changer is probably the very best shaver amongst all of my DE's. Finished with the magnificent Creed Aventus.
Nice photo and shave, Danny! Who knows, you may end up dusting off that beautiful old straight you picked up!
