Slow learner or not, Joe, @Trigger, would have provided you with the finer points of physics to remove the snow while give you a chemical analysis of the power of Haliteon the snow.
Thanks Gary. I am glad that I was able to get some errands done today. Being stuck in the house for 2 days was not fun.
Thank you Clint. It is usually pretty good up here as far as snow plowing the main roads and side streets.
Actually NaCl (halite) is not as effective to melt snow/ice as CaCl2 (calcium chloride) or MgCl2 (magnesium chloride). The reason is these two compounds have 1.5x more atoms than halite. The more atoms dissolved in the ice, the lower the freezing point. Therefore, Calcium chloride and Magnesium chloride will lower the freezing point more so than Sodium chloride (halite/rock salt) Sorry, the 2 in the chemical formulas should be written as subscripts, but I am limited by my phone to do so.
See Danny, @Hembree, the knowledge you would have acquired had you not been late to the airport this morning.
