Excellent photo and shave report Jason. The Karve OC looks very cool and gives a different shave the the SB so adding a D OC plate wouldn't be the same experience. At least its not for me. Awesome shave Joe. They are even talking about a little accumulation of that nasty winter snow and ice here over the weekend. How I hope they are wrong.
Thank you Patrick. The proof in the pudding will be with tomorrow's shave. Can I get through the shave without the weeper, by the left side burn, reappearing.
Thanks, Joe! Thanks, Jason! If I'm joining you in Karve shaves I figured I should join in on the thread. No new additions until next year. The first acquisition will be a custom made brush and bowl from a Canadian Artisan. Thank you, Dave! On occasion I would have to perform my work in a hazardous atmosphere which required either a respirator or supplied air so being clean shaven was a job requirement. I prefer being clean shaven too but I'm growing it because this is the first time since 2008 that it isn't against the rules. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
My shave began as potential bad news, but ended up fine. I decided to use the Red Tip in a perhaps unorthodox way(South to North on the cheeks)and could hear the "buttered toast"(credit given to @Trigger on that baby)better than when I first tried it. It was a slightly different feel than that of the disposeABLE, but clearly I killed some astroturf. I then (are you sitting down)decided to try it(The Red Tip)in more areas than before, including parts of the jawline, and South Porcupine Alley(chin). The bad news was the development of 4 tiny(but still visible)red splotches, 2 on each part of Porcupine. By that time, I had switched to the disposeABLE. I couldn't be too sur sure which of the razors caused the damage. But I proceeded to finish with the dispy, and all went well. I'd like to think that the aftershave(Week-end Rodeo)is what helped calm down the splotches. I put on a little too much, but I knew the "sticky-ness" would calm down later on. . I should add that at the beginning of the shave, I placed serious focus on improving the look and feel of the soap(also Weekend Rodeo)by spending more time lathering up(during each of my 2 passes). At the end of the shave, the soap definitely looked sudsy-good sign. I'll give myself a Most Excellent on this one.
