I felt very similarly before trying the '13 R41 clone (Z0) in heavier SS. It was aggressive for sure, but the only time I sliced myself was when I tried to talk to SWMBO whilst shaving...I'm sure there is a message in there somewhere. Are we having a day with these? Sunday, Monday? I've lost track.
That razor is so very unique, Dave. Congrats! Ferrari AS? Hopefully a scent based more on an image and lifestyle rather than the practical scents of a racing pit...
She told me I better get at the lathe and start cranking out some bowls to afford the Karve. Actually shes probably right .
It's ok Dave! I invented the acronym and term because I would get better than DFS, but not BBS in my early days of wetshaving. Members that know me long enough know what I mean. Finally, this is my rating system from highest to lowest. Supreme BBS / passes cotton test, the ultimate shave. BBS / Self explanatory BBS- / not quite BBS because there is some invisible roughness on lower neck or chin/ mouth area. The areas are small. IBSS ++ / Same as BBS - but the invisible patches are a little larger. IBSS+ / same as IBSS++, but there is scrufinness on the jawlind. IBSS / most shavers would call it a DFS, but I usually don't get to this level unless I am in a hurry and the blade is really dull for my whiskers. I hope that I made clear my system Dave. I originally had a letter grading system. The lowest I went was A-. It was because I was very lenient starting out. Now, if I had to go back to the grading system, then I wouldn't be so lenient because I am a veteran straight shaver. Here's how my grades would correspond with my new rating system. Supreme BBS = A+ BBS = A BBS- = A- IBSS++ = B+ IBSS+ = B IBSS = B- In concluding, my shaves lie within the B to A range with 95 % of my shaves in the A- / A range. Aren't you glad you asked?
Me ??? Never . I've already ordered 1 new razor and 2 blade orders this month and it's only the 5th. Also bidding on a few vintage razors online but we won't mention those ok?
Thank you Joe. Very nice scent, indeed. I do wish it lasted longer---projection-wise. Right now, it has morphed into a "skin scent".
After all these years I should know that there are only a few blades, which can be taken beyond 2-3 shaves. Personna 74's, Gillette "Spoilers" and Wilkinson Chromium a.k.a. Light Brigades. ALL others should be used a couple times and binned.
It's amazing that they get their panties twisted when we buy stuff that they consider exorbitant, but they in turn, don't see anything wrong buying more shoes, purses, clothes and accessories when they have more than enough. I won't get into their rabbit hole of makeup, nails and coiffs.
Thanks, Clint, and good point. Which OC plates do you have and like? I'll tag @wristwatchb and @jluc so they can put it in their 'carts' to be ready to go...
