Yikes Clint. You were probably dreaming about why everyone else got snow but you. Hope the rest of your days goes better .
Amazing Pierpaolo! I'd sure love to have a peek in your shave den. Then again I might start crying and clinging onto things . Beautiful pic and gear my friend.
Two excellent photos. I prefer the first's exposure, but prefer the second's framing. Could you please trudge back outside and make that happen?
In the wrong hands, both R41's will bite. Your technique, Joe, allowed you to get a great shave without incident. Perhaps you can share more details of this shave, with regard to the actual technique. Many shavers would benefit from reading that. Thanks.
Bloody Monday. Hope you have a great day, Clint. I ALMOST grabbed my AoS Lavender cream to titanic my way through it, but when I looked inside, I realized It would be well into March before finishing it, so I abandoned that idea.
February Focus AoS Sandalwood (T)~~Rubberset 400/3~~Fatip Lo Storto Originale/Feather~~Houbigant Duc de Vervins What the heck am I focussing on, today Nothing, but getting a great shave. Let's compare the AoS tallow shave soap (Valobra), with the just completed AoS Sandalwood cream, shall we Ease of lather: advantage Cream. Photogenic lather: tie. Slickness: advantage soap. Quantity needed to facilitate shave: advantage soap. Scent: advantage cream. Post shave: advantage soap. And the winner is...soap, 3 1/2 to 2. While many of you are shaving with your R41's, having just completed an R41 "rule", I chose a true open comb (not that scalloped hybrid), The Italian slant by Fatip. With a new Feather blade, I easily scored a BBS shave. On the lowest part of my neck, the razor left me a touch of "Vampire wine", which quickly cleaned up with the witch hazel. Fatip's are known for their propensity to bite. New scent in the den. A shaving pal in AZ (from a rival forum ) sold me this bottle of Houbigant Duc de Vervins. This is the pre-reformulation using real Oakmoss. It's a beast of a scent.

Thank you Joseph. The Muhle requires attention and respect. I was thinking about the day ahead instead of the task at had. My wife gave me two AOS creams for Christmas. So I will start using those a little along the way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Monday Mule day! Opps....wrong mule! Happy Monday everyone. I am feeling a little better and I am thankful for that. The Shave Forge horse hair knot in the Dscosmetics handle whipped up some very nice Snake Bite this morning. I loaded a fresh Astra SP in the R41 Muhle and completed three nice passes with no blood loss. The R41 is a joy to drive on the Weber bulldog handle. A good splash of Witch Hazel followed by some Pinaud Clubman Aftershave Lotion and I am ready for Monday. Take care gentlemen!
