Been getting excellent shaves from my lo Storto. Works nice on the head also. Must feel good to have no more pressure and the freedom to just use whatever you want eh? Cudos for installing a Feather in that stallion....that was a close shave
February 8th DSCosmetic Z0 w Astra SP APShave Mixed/Resin&Sapele Strop Shoppe Baker St Thayers M-bombed Stirling Baker St AS I don’t have a true Muhle per se, but this SS clone of the ‘13 R41 stepped in nicely. The Astra was minorly tuggy at the start, which is a odd occurrence in this ‘smoother than sharper’ blade, but it was great on the last two passes. No red and I’m a very small amount on the lower right neck away from perfectly passing a cotton ball test. It still might pass it, in all fairness, but I eschewed buffing. This really is an outstanding shaver. I know there are some who wouldn’t be able to get over the fact that it is a Chinese knockoff, but I will say that it is rare that a clone upgrades from pig metal to Stainless steel. A really fine product, to be honest. M-bombed the Baker St to finish as it is Monday after all. Have a great day all!
This morning(Monday, 8th),I closed out the back-to-back Razorock soap&AgadirMen A.S.. Lotsa Oud involved. I made a few extra dips into the soap with the brush(Stoylin li'l brudder). Opened with the Red Tip 1957, and decided to go a little further with it than previous shaves. Again, I didn't get much off, but SOME. I'd say I did most of the 1st pass with it, then went to the disposeABLE for the rest of the 1st pass and all the 2nd. I'm still at the exploratory stage with it(the 1957). Agadir A.S. for the finish. Very Excellent. Might try a different blade tomorrow.
Interesting Jason. I found the Astra Blues smoother than the greens , contrary to what I have read. Who cares where it's ( razor)made as long as it performs for you eh
Nice shave Clint, hope the day doesn't bite you like the razor Beautiful shave and picture Thanks Gary A fine shave seems like a good focus to me. Great shave Gary Glad you're feeling some better and the Mules are out in force today! Great shave Jason! Why do I always forget to mentholate my Monday shaves.....
SOTD MONDAY MORNING, FEBRUARY 8, 2021 Great shave on this second day in rural Tennessee. I’ve become a fan of A&E products. I brought the A&E Kaizen croap with me. I’m hoping to use it up. This croap provides great skin benefits, but is a bit too smelly for me. Fortunately, the scent dissipates quickly. I bought it based on a good friend’s review, and liked it so much I went on to purchase the brand’s Shaving Butter unscented product which is every bit as good as my regular MWF. The JR Boar brush made the face and dome lathering process a pleasure. As much as I like Cremo Shave Cream, it is not a brush-friendly product. In any case this morning’s mug shave featured my C-Mon Special 11/16. As one of my top seven vintage razors, it really holds an edge, and is joyously sharp, or what my friend Bill in his most recent shave video would call “styrofoam peanut sharp”. It’s whisker-melting edge delivered the kind of three pass velveteen smooth result I’ve come to expect from all my straight razors. The Bakelite handled Shake Sharp, the favorite of my three Shake Sharps, cleared away my dome stubble with two delightful ATG passes in much the same fashion. I don’t know what it is about these little SEs, but when loaded with two stacked DE blades, they have no peer. I feel clean, cool, refreshed and velveteen smooth. RAZOR: C-Mon Special 11/16 (Mug), G.E. Jones Shake Sharp SE Safety Razor (Dome) BLADE: 2 Stacked Feather DE PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil BRUSH: JR Boar CROAP: A&E Kaizen POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.
