  1. Awesome shave, pic and gear Blair! I am curious. Was the razor a little harsh when you first shaved with it? If not, then approximately how many shaves are on it? I am not an expert by any means, but if the straight is a little harsh, then maybe it needs to be refreshed on a pasted strop.

  3. I know, right. At least with renovations you see an improvement. Repairs just end up being money sucks to have it look the same. I do try to do most stuff myself. Even though I have a white collar job, most of the men in my family (and my wife's) do not, and they would vote to take away my man card if I at least didn't figure the basic stuff out.
  4. I really should un-subscribe from all these shaving emails. B&M has a new release with a wonderful sounding scent profile and now Timeless has a new Ti handle. So many temptations. Aaargh!

  5. Terrific shave Jim! You are very fortunate to be able to retire at an young age. We are not guaranteed a tomorrow so enjoy your retirement. I'm sure that you will find things to do that will make your life more enjoyable. Stay well!

Hey, you've made it through 45 days of a NB...why bother going any further? You've proven to yourself that you can do it if you have to...:eatdrink047:
  7. Thank you, Joe!

  9. Are you sure that you don't have any Italian DNA, Jim? Lol!
  10. That sounds like a great plan! Just think of the new stuff that you will get from Jason and the money that you will save this year. 2022 will be your shopping extravaganza for buying up-to-date gear and software. You can do this! Don't be a buttercup!
  11. Lol
If I do it's very little. Well according to a DNA profile I had done a few years ago.

  12. You just have to figure in the penalty fee with what you buy Jim {like I did} to see if it's worth it :eatdrink047:

  13. Had no time to respond properly yesterday, and now I'm Shavette Fu'ing today. Much like @Dave in KY and @Primotenore noted, my thank yous have taken the form of likes lately.
Very nice, Patrick. the Fatip sounds like a great razor, and looks pretty cool too. Are those bamboo walls in your room? If so, how have those worked out for you?
Sounds like your soap focus has reached a 'tedious' phase...perhaps put it aside for a few days?
I think differently than many on this, Dave. I would only keep one of the two plates if they are exactly the same.
That Muhle is getting a good run from you, Clint. Glad to hear it is sticking around. Fwiw, I am jealous of your time zone right about now...that puts you into Friday afternoon! Don't work too late.
The Jaws is another great razor, Danny! So many good, fairly priced options these days. We are in a golden era, methinks.
Have a safe drive home tomorrow, Jeff.
Isn't that the truth...more cuts on ears and nostrils than on the face!
Great looking lather, Blair, and a great review of the software. Your pic is amazing as always.
You've inspired me to bring out the Palmolive for a focus, Pierpaolo. After the Reserve Cool. You have not, however, inspired me to try and find my old Sensor...:)
Joe, I haven't tried any of CL's EdTs...are the splashes a faithful representation of the scents?
Congrats on that big 'ol bottle of Lime, Myles. You are building up quite a den of classic splashes. Congrats.
  14. I'm sure you've got it all figured out, Jim. Much like Clint already said, you can go back in if you want to afterwards. I know you said you didn't want to, but it is at least reassuring that you have the option. My father in law is a retired Millwright and he has gone back in for a contractor on shut downs or big jobs, etc. He says it pays for nice vacations or toys.
  15. I don't know, Dave. I probably would have caved by now if I didn't have a bet with Jason. I hate losing.

  16. Thanks Jason, for the past year on TSD I've manage to progress in the quality of shaves thanks to you guys and in gear. :)
  17. I'm with your thinking Jason. Sold the Proto to the Tester and I have 1st dibs if he ever sells in the future. Also just sold the pieces left that completed an additional Yates razor. Kept an "M" and "H" Plate and 2 handles with 1 Top Cap. May go see this Ti Timeless stuff I've read about :D Just kidding !
GOOD, I'm rooting for you ;)
  18. Trust me I know the feeling. I analyze things to death and still worry.
