    Yes it was, Joe. They're sweet people. They're aware of my Bride's health situation, and they are constantly checking in on us. It turns out we attend the same church, and they have been friends of my sister and her husband for almost 30 years. We've actually got a small neighborhood full of really good folks.

    I hope you're doing OK with the winter weather. I notice it's mostly us guys in the south that are complaining about it. :) We nearly sidestepped all of last winter by spending a few weeks in Florida. Our new friends in Minnesota are really getting it now. I guess that's the price they pay for having those beautiful summers. Looks like we may make a return trip to Minnesota for an annual checkup...in the summer. ;)

    I don't consider Westchester County upstate NY because it is part of the tri-State metroplitan area. Albany, Poughkeepsie, Binghampton, Syracuse, Schenectady, Buffalo, Ithaca, Oswego, Plattsburgh, Cooperstown are in various sections of upstate NY. Obviously, there are many towns and cities that are too numerous to mention.

    Upstate NY is beautiful, Paul. We swing WAAAAAYYYY around NYC on our drives up to Maine. We take pit stops in PA and MA (lots of cool stuff to see in those places too.)

    I have a friend in the Minneapolis area and he has had the harshest winter since he moved there 5 years ago. Long Island winters are a piece of cake compared with New England and the Upper Midwest.
