Monday’s mail call is a 4th quarter 1968 Gillette Knack with the case I got for $30 after shipping. It’s in pristine condition and I’m happy to own it.
Thank you, Joe! Thank you, Jason! This razor is the regular open comb (non-Jaws). I'm thinking it will be smooth but still efficient. Thank you, Danny!
Not an aquisition. But a loan by a friend. And I love it. Timeless ALSB45 Aluminium 6061 T6, 100mm, 48g Full size: https://imgur.com/MIiicuU
What I think is the first DE to come to market after Gillette. If it is not this razor then it is their other version also released at about the same time. Clark DE razor made circa 1909. It used a propertary blade that would fit on Gillette razors but Gillette's blades wouldn't work with this razor. A modern blade can be made to fit this easily though since they have a long slot through the middle and it is just a matter to opening it up a little. This also maybe the first differential razor head produced if the regular and close shave correlate to different aggression levels on each side.
I see lots of those handles with cheap heads for sale all the time. I even have a couple lying around from buying razor lots.
It is possible the handle is not for this razor. I've seen ads for this razor before so I can cross check that and see.
