  2. The rolling outages are inconsistent and not applied evenly. Probably a mix of what power is available where, and broken pieces of the last mile(s) of the distribution system. Our little area was out Monday afternoon to yesterday morning, 41 hours. Then on for 6 hours. Out for 3 hours, back on since 6pm yesterday with no interruptions since.

Some areas, even just a block away, have never had a rolling outage, nor any issue. Our daughters and circle of friends have been keeping tabs on it.

Now….it’s water shortages. Between busting pipes, and millions who have been trickling faucets, there’s boil water notices because of low pressure for 12 million residents til at least February 22nd. I was able to get to the store before the shelves were wiped out from bottled stock. Bread and fruit aisles were wiped, 10% of normal stock.

Texas just isn’t ready for multiple days of sub freezing cold, particularly when there’s frozen precipitation involved.

    Tallow + Steel Kyoto~~Simpson 57 "The Douglas"~~Barbasol/Sharp Star~~Cremo/Creed
Had the urge for some variety, so here we go.
    Tallow + Steel
Kyoto is an interesting soap. Pasture-raised tallow and a predominant scent of Yuzu.

The yuzu's flavour is tart and fragrant, closely resembling that of the grapefruit, with overtones of mandarin orange.*

The soap lathers very well and is quite slick and protective.

Day two with the Sharp Star, this time combined with the Barbasol Floating Head razor.
Love the weight of this tool and its scalloped
safety bar is quite reminiscent of the Mühle R41.
I watched a YouTube video featuring "layering" scents and one pair was Creed Aventus and Tom Ford Tuscan Leather,
which, you will recall from my post yesterday, the Cremo Leather and Oud is a "Poor man's Tom Ford TL"
So, I threw caution to the wind and applied a generous amount of both.
Results...I didn't spontaneously combust, so it can't be that terrible.

  16. That's about 10 miles north of us. Denton area being the outer edge of the northern part of the whole metropolitan area called 'Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex' (which is bigger than a couple states!). How's that for a run on description? :D

And Thanks Joseph, and everyone. Our family will come out of this no worse for wear, just experienced for the next round of when it happens. I may use this as an excuse with wifey to upgrade the generators into one 7-9K portables, and sell one of the little ones.

Today we woke to 22F, climbing to 31F, completely overcast, so not much will thaw outside. Tomorrow should be better, partly cloudy and 34ish predicted. After Saturday morning, it's above freezing for the next 10 days. Yay!
