  1. My preference for synthetics is the Omega EVO first, then the Trafalgar T3, T2, then the Simpson Chubby 2. The difference between the EVO & the Trafalgar series is the thickness of the strands, and the quantity stuffed in the knots. The EVO has thicker strands, but not super dense. The Trafalgars have thinner strands, but stuffed sort of SHD (super high density). They are very close in face feel honestly, even with the different design.

@clint64 preference usually has the Chubby 2 first. @jtspartan does mention the Trafalgar T2 has a shorter loft than he prefers. The T3 is slightly softer, has a bit more.

I think the Chubby 2 I have is either breaking in a little, or I’m just getting comfortable using more pressure, or both.

    FWIW, I have 2 EVO brushes, 1 knot has been transplanted. 3 T3s, 2 transplanted, 1 T2 transplanted, and the 1 Chubby 2.

    Hope this helps!
  2. Great combination again for the 1508.5 Dave! Fun read, cruddy timing & situation. Our house in Louisiana is septic based. Remember Dad having that fun….ugh.
  3. Thanks Bill! Yes, steak dinner with veggies and mint choc chip ice cream will be on the menu!

  7. Great shave and pic from The Great Philosopher! Have a nice day, Dave! It's too bad you were nominated for a CT because this one would have been more dignified.
  8. Excellent post Blair. The value leader has to be the Trafalgar T3. The knot alone is worth the price.

  9. Thanks Joe and I don't see any CT yet so who knows........

Happy Friday Everyone. I bought this Ever-Ready 1912 on the Damn Fine Shave BST. For those not familiar with DFS, the forum has a fantastic BST section. I was pleasantly surprised by the razor. It was described as being in excellent shape and for once, the description was accurate. The Chubby Boar did a wonderful job loading and lathering the Fat. I really enjoy this soap and will repurchase when this one is gone. Three passes and touch ups missed the baby. My nemesis, aka my lower right neck, aided in the escape once again. A splash of Floid Blue and I think I am ready for the day ahead. I hope everyone has a great Friday.

Kathy and I have nicknamed her "June Bug." Sorry, it's just a Kentucky thang.
