Films are the way to go. I am satisfied with the edges that I have gotten from them. I will say that they may not be smooth as coticules, jnats and synthetics, but I get great shaves by this method. I recommend it for newbies who don't want to spend beaucoup dollars on stones, lapping plates and holders. Honing with lapping films is idiot proof. Finally, a shaver has to find a honing method that fits with his or her situation. I am glad you found your preferred honing method Bill.
It is my opinion that to gain maximum enjoyment from straights, one needs to be able to hone an edge that makes himself happy. More money or work does not guarantee better.
Perfect first cook on the griddle top. Nothing over or undercooked. Usually don't do bacon or eggs on our mushroom onion Swiss burgers but I was anxious to test out different foods on it. This thing's going to get a ton of use. Forgive my dirty grill, it's due for its annual tear down and clean. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Don't know how long I would last as a Dr. My patients wouldn't last long but they would go with a smile on their face. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I agree Bill! There's is a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in knowing that you are shaving with your own edge. It's the epitome of straight razor shaving.
