A Chet Baker morning, however, I was in the mood for something more spirited.
Obviously I needed a suitable soap: I smelled the Castle Forbes lavender but it was too spring, summery. And Jabonman's Zanzibar was too aromatic. The natural choice fell on the Dutch croap.
Due to bowl size, the Berkeley was an obvious choice.
The blade... I don't know if the 'new' Polsilver is a version of the discontinued one or if it's made the same way and they just changed the livery. I know it shaves very, very well.
Right out of the bag it seemed thin to me, but upon examination I changed my opinion.
On the German razor it offered an excellent performance.
And also an almost complete second pass without re-lathering, thanks to the exceptional smoothness of the soap.
The EdT was perfectly in line with what I had chosen.
An excellent opening to the day...
