1. 6/8 Un-named razor.

I cannot find a makers mark on it. Looks like my Diamante but 1/2 inch shorter blade. Whatever it is, I used it on a three day growth this morning. To use an old cliché, like a hot knife through butter. I was a little surprised how gently the razor shaved. I even stopped to look what it took off the first few strokes because it shaved so effortlessly. As you can tell, I am very impressed with her.

  9. I know far less than I'd like about Heljestrands, is that the original size? Great looking razor tho'.

  10. Thanks!
Heljestrand is (was) one of the best manufacturers of razors. Probably someone will argue against my opinion, but considering my razors from both Solingen and Sheffield, they are not even close when it comes to sharpness. I have a couple of them besides a number of other brands from Eskilstuna in Sweden.
Yes it is original size, see picture.

  11. Yeah, I know all about their fame, but I never owned one (yet) and haven't studied them much. Got outbid on a lovely piece a few days ago, pity. I will go down the Eskilstuna rabbit hole sooner than later, I'm sure of that.

  12. You will not get disappointed for sure. You can buy NOS Heljestrands from:

The knife in this case is unmarked sadly. But a very good price!

  18. 13/16 Shell 92 Silver Steel by Perfect Works, cream and balm were Penhaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet. The razor is one of the best shaving razors that I have. I’ll share a bit of information with my friends at TSD and ATG, the Japanese razors with the ‘Perfect Works Silver Steel’ stamp have all been exceptional. According to Jethro/Fikira, there may have been a connection between Perfect Works and Tanifuji. The Tanifuji Club 3000 has this Perfect Works stamp on it. The PW razors also seem have better scales than other Japanese razors, which most Japanese makers seem to have considered an afterthought, maybe because the native kamisori had no scales?

The razors that I have identified so far that have that stamp have been Cape 500 and 650, maybe one more Cape, a Kikuboshi 8000-series, 8300 or 8600 (?), Shell razors, the Omega 45, and the Tanifuji Club 3000. They’re a bit difficult to find because sellers don’t mention the stamp. I’ve included an image of the stamp, apologies for the fingerprints!
