Aye, about time it made it to SOTD A razor should shave at least as well as it looks - glad this one lived up to that standard I’m just surprised you were able to leave well enough alone and not put your own edge on it. That’s saying something for the seller’s work
Nic. (Nicolas) Gervais Suds: Oleo Soapworks Sandalumo Splash: Oleo Soapworks “40” This feels great in hand... what an enjoyable shave. A solid 17/16, but handles great and even sings a little on the strop. Enjoy your shave. Tom Gorgeous Koraat Billy... love the idea of a modern 14!!!
The Seller Used a Naniwa 12 K Gouken Kagayaki to Finish it as His Naniwa Progression..He Reckons this Stone is Finer than his Previous Naniwa 12 K Super Stone..He is Correct of Course..But..You have One..I Have One..Its Just a New Named 3rd Generation Naniwa 12 K Super Stone as the Video Shows above..I Told Gary this Without Going into Detail..I have this Confirmed from Other Sources.. All the 3rd Generation Super Stones are FAR Finer than the Earlier Generation Ones & they Were Shit Hot..They have a Far Higher Grit Finishing Capacity than their Claimed Grit Rating.. Aye,,In My Hands is has a Finishing Capacity Around 15 K..He Finished the Razor on a 20 K Suehiro Gokumyo..Its an Aggressive Stone by All Accounts..He Just Used 5 Laps on this Stone..Its Very Sharp..Wither it Improved the Edge from the Naniwa 12 K..Not Convinced of that..But Hey.. I Am Pleased with His Work Mind..But..Yeah..I Will Put My Own Edge on it as Some Point.I Will Put a Natural Edge on it at Some Point to Suit My Own Taste..It Will Take a Smoother Edge from One of My Eschers I Reckon..But I Do Like the Edge the Way it is for the Moment..Summit..Different..So is the Modern Steel..Lovely Full Hollow..Few Custom Razors are Full Hollow Grinds & I have a Fetish for Full Hollows as the Vast Majority of My Collection are Full Hollow Grinds as Ya Very Well Know..I Am a Full Hollow Grind Fanatic.. Billy..
Today, almost a straight razor. https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/hess-ezy-shave-shavette.65248/ Hess Ezy Shave No. 1010 https://theshaveden.com/forums/posts/1939623/
Gentlemen, I think that we need a separate thread just for Billy’s memes - They’re great! CVH M.K. 33, soap and AS were Floris 89, the new potassium palmate version which lathers extremely well. Brush was a Rooney Beehive 1 3-band. Fantastic shave as the 33 has a fresh Jnat edge (see the honing thread for details).

The frameback always strikes me as a odd razor so I don’t reach for it often. Today’s first pass was a little tuggier than I’d like but everything after that was a very fine shave.
