The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 2-band Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Super 84 razor with a Gillette Silver Blue blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

So today was the day...since today i know why shaving with a straight razor is supposed to be THE best shave ever of many.

The stubbles were literally stroked from the face. The razor was extremely sharp and even more comfortable.

What a dream shave.

In addition, the woody, spicy scent of the shaving soap, which made the shave even more of a wellness experience.

Finally, applied the great smelling Aftershave and my mood rose immeasurably.

Great shave with this equipment. Everything just worked.

The handle is made of Gold Laced Onyx, which is a member of the chalcedony family which also includes carnelian, agate, blood stone etc.
Occurring naturally in a variety of colours, Black Onyx is polished to enhance appearance , a member of the quartz family. The name comes from the Greek word onyx which means nail of a finger or claw. Legend says that one day while Venus was sleeping Eros/Cupid cut her fingernails and left the clippings scattered on the ground. Because no part of a heavenly body can die, the gods turned them into stone which later became known as Onyx.

 

Good looking shave Clint. I've wondered about purchasing this soap. What is your opinion of it?

CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Nancy Boy Signature AS Balm.

Back to my Bundubeard diamonds - the Kudu gave me so much joy with its lovely coffee/peppermint scent, the lather was thicker than hell with great slickness, and the menthol sensation felt heavenly. The Prep, together with the Alt Innsbruck were a wonderful, chilly, soothing finish, and man, do I ever love the Bleu de Chanel. Three passes did the job for me again - another glorious shave!
