Razor: Gillette Fatboy E4-MFG 1959 4th qtr, excellent adjustable razor, easy to adjust while in use and reasonable under the nose to clean up. Some blade tab overhang.
Blade: Gillette Astra SP(3) excellent blade, Sharp & smooth with good longevity. I like to use this blade as my standard for testing new razors and blades.
Soap: Colonel Conk, mild scent bayrum with great lather qualities. Good post feel & excellent protection IMO.
Brush: Omega Boar brush, have had this brush for some time, well made after what I did to get rid of the funk 4 years ago. Still lathers well and enjoy a boar brush that is nicely broke in. As a Greenhorn I boiled, microwaved it and used Mr Clean a number of times and this brush held up to all the things not to do, WELL MADE. The handle cracked because its so dry in the house during winters in Northern Alberta Canada.
Pre shave: Brush wash my whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 with pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Ogallala aftershave + a dollop Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my Gillette Fatboy with a Gillette Astra SP.

***EDIT - 1 pass + lots of spot clean up against the grain. The shave was smooth but gave lots of weepers this time around. I had to go to the Alum block to seal things up. I'm beginning to wonder if the amazing KAI blade that has shaved so well the first 4 shaves may need changing after that small number. Most blades I use in the EJ Kelvin can go 6-7 shaves effectively before giving problems. I will give this blade one more shave after this and then I'll know for sure if I can start tracking if this blade is capped at 4 shaves. If so it's the only weakness the blade has in this razor because I've gotten 10/10 shaves from the KAI in the EJ Kelvin. I did try out some new pre-shave oil, but I doubt that had any impact on the shave.
