Hey guys.... Who is the best source for Dovo long blades / Least expensive. Also my Dovo came with the newer clear/white insert. Will this hold the long blade or do I need to buy the black insert? Thanks
IIRC, Dovo discontinued production of long blades several years ago. Other suppliers have made alternatives, such as the one linked to above.
The Dovo shavette is designed to handle multiple blade options. They probably have years worth of inserts already made. Costs them next to nothing to include it. It's the original. Best is at "best" a huge stretch. I consider the IBC, Diane, Feather DX style, and the old vintage Weck razors to be far superior. If you were talking about the blade, rather than the razor, then I still consider Feather single edge and Personna Hair Shaper blades to be superior. However, when it comes to blades, personal preference is a factor, so YMMV.
For sure. I was referring to DE blades only, used in that model. Short ones are the worst. Long ones are a bit better. It's a matter of Physics. Same reason thicker ones are better. The newer, the better. It's a matter of Technology. BUT ... mostly people prefer YMMW.
Oh yeah, totally agree. Injector blades are the shortest blade I'm willing to use in a shavette style razor, and even then I prefer a blade with a bit more meat on it.
