Great shave and report, Dave! I would have got the complete set too. Twenty bucks for the extra plate is a no brainer for me. 27" at DIA. I think we got a little more. If this were the norm I would pack up. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
Paul, I bounced the idea around for about three days and finally settled on a complete black synthetic knot from Dscosmetics. I just like the looks of a complete black knot with the aluminum. I also ordered a couple of extras. I plan on painting Evan's engraving in with black paint after I get the handle polished out. It should look great. What color handle did you get?
Nice shave this morning. It's hard to describe this Classic Two soap from Tallow&Steel. Mossy, Barbershop, and a YSL Rive Gauche clone are all in the description, which gives one the idea that there is a good mix of all 3, which results in........strange.I'll have to work hard at finding the right A.S. to go with it. One thing I like is how sudsy it got after just the first use. Anyway, 0:25 to load it onto the Stoylin "li'l brudder" brush. 1st pass was fine. No threatening issues. Second pass resulted in a Knick at South Porcupine Alley(chin, lower). Solid work all around Cactus Nation. Jawline, good. Stoylin Unscented for the closing A.S. Smooth and fresh-just what is expected from Doc Ezlovan's aftershaves. Super Duper Excellent.
I'm getting #13. I don't remember the color for that number. I'm not good at "knot-creating". Will need some help in this area.
Colorado is a beautiful state. Back in my forties, I used to fish cutthroat trout in the high mountain lakes region! Truly God’s country! Great skiing in Vail and Aspen as well! Jim lives in a beautiful state, both retired and regional!
March 15th Canadian Old Type w GSB (1) Omega Pro/Resin Soap Commander Endurance Thayers Shulton Old Spice Inspired by @Primotenore to do a week long run with an Old Type. Loaded in a fresh GSB and whipped up a really nice lather. Things got a little weird after that. First few strokes were smooth- and then the next few weren't. Tuggy and rough. Back to the first side of the blade for a few strokes- perfect. Back to the second side. Tuggy and rough again. Rinsed and repeated once more (I'm smart that way...) before I decided on just using the one side. To be honest, I've had more bum GSB blades from this one 100 pack than any other kind of blade. At least 3 that I can think of, but the first that it was just one side. Anyway, had 3 very nice passes just using the one side. Finishing with the Shulton put me back into a good mood. Have a great day all!
That might kill my NB 21, as it would be a shave-related purchase. Where is the best place to get it?
MICROMATIC MONDAY SE Shave # 178 Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: GEM Micromatic Open Comb Blade: GEM Stainless Brush: Jayaruh 329 Boar Lather: Los Jabones de Joserra Noir Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk Additional Care: Stirling Alum Block Stirling Tea Tree Witch Hazel Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm Micromatic Monday shave with the OC version of the razor with a new blade. Super close shave, with one weeper on the upper right side burn area. No build deal, I survived. The Jayaruh 329m 400 type boar brush, easily whipped up a nice lather. The Los Jabones de Joserra Noir is a dark scent soap with the following profile: A dark, humid and smoky proposal. A different and delicious aroma at the same time. Cypress, vetiver, smoked incense and musk are its main notes. Top Notes: Cypress Middle Notes: Vetiver Base Notes: Incienso Musk The shave was nicely finished with a healthy splash of the AV Musk. On the Anthony quarantine matter, he has tested negative to the COVID virus. This is fabulous news. According to the updated CDC guidelines, he is able to return to the Day Care for before and after school care. Unfortunately, his school district does not follow the CDC guidelines but rather the New York State guidelines courtesy of the Czar, El Creepo himself. Therefore, he will not be allowed back into school until this Friday. As a result, my practice run for the MLOC shall continue. Have a great day gentlemen.
No doubt about! However, I mentioned that I am not the outdoor type so all that goodness would be wasted on me.
Wonderful shave Jason! Old Spice is just the ticket for Monday. That is weird about the blade. I would have binned it.
March Focus Antica Barbieria Colla~~Simpson Emperor 3~~2011 Mühle R41/Polsilver~~Oud Al Layl March is halfway done and the shaves posted keep getting better and better. Well done 30DC Crew. Primo got his shave on with an Italian soap, British brush, German razor, Polish razor blade and Arabian fragrance. If that is not a "world-class" set up, I don't know what is. The ABC label reads "Shaving Cream", but the consistency matches the Italian "Colla", meaning "paste", better. The product is firm enough to load directly from the puck, but I scooped an almond-size (fitting) amount and built the lather, using my Emperor 3, in my Aesop SS bowl. Day two with the '11 R41/Polsilver duo. Three passes and some cleanup got the job done. FOTD® is another juice from the middle east: Oud al Layl. Neither Fragrantica nor basenotes.net have this listed, so I looked up the notes from an Indian seller. Saffron, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, White Peach, Green Apple, Nepalese, Agarwood Oud, Patchouli, Jasmine, Amber, Vetiver, Vanilla And White Musk. Presentation is beautiful. You will notice two pieces of Agarwood in the bottle. The opening is powerful. Very powerful. I don't go to work for another 3 1/2 hours and I am hoping it calms down by that time.
