    Great shave, Dave! Nothing like a little empirical data to shake up an old fart who should know better early in the morning! When I use a DE, my blade of choice 95% of the time is a Feather, which was my benchmark based on an incorrect “ASSUMPTION” that it was the same size as all other blades. Not so, I guess! It is a smidge smaller than a Kai which was my comparison. I just verified it. I used a USB microscope, and the Kai is under 100+ magnification wider. I don’t have any Astra blades, but the Kai is also wider than a Detby Premium and a Polsilver. The difference is not easily visible to the naked eye, but it is real under appropriate magnification. That’s what I meant by a smidge wider. Hope your back continues to improve! :cool:

    I thought the solid printed Astra's were older. When they changed the printing on the blades I remember reading people thought they were getting counterfeits.

    I've never actually compared or measured a Kai. I've read that they're .009" wider, pretty small but should still be enough to see the difference. It sure doesn't look it in your picture.

    Awesome shave Joe, love that SR, very cool! Sorry about the weeper, I don't know if you have an alum block but I would HIGHLY recommend getting one if you do not have one, I got a good bit of weepers from the Nacet blade yesterday and the alum took care of that.

    I got the first round of the Moderna Covid vaccine yesterday. The shot has knocked me for a loop. I feel like I have been hit by a truck. I am sure all the other stuff going on didn't help with my reaction. I am trying to drink a cup of coffee while thinking about a shower & shave.

    Awesome shave Dave! Astra SP blades have never really worked for me unless I used it in a Gillette adjustable. Throw it in any other razor and thats all she wrote, nick and weeper central.
