Thanks, Joe, but I’m far from a master! After all I continued to foolishly shave with a razor with an incomplete bevel. Fixed it now, and experienced the kind of shave Rigarazor’s are known for! Live and learn!
I got it from APshave, and it’s neither. It’s a new synthetic fiber that supposedly has water retention to rival a natural fiber brush. I’ll find out tomorrow. I set the knot yesterday around 4:30, so it’ll be fully cured and set this afternoon. It does feel incredibly soft. I have some concerns about backbone. We’ll see.
Thanks, Joe! I’m starting to move away from natural fiber brushes. The SynBad supposedly has water retention comparable to a high end Badger, and it’s maybe a tenth the price of a Manchurian or comparable Badger!
I completely understand. Although my 2 favorite brushes are my C-Mon and JR #386, I prefer synthetics because they generate lather very easily. The natural bristle brushes are great soap destroyers; especially when you want to finish a puck.
Congrats Jeff, I have a Synbad knot in a Graydog brush handle and a spare waiting for the right handle for it. Great knot.
Sounds like you like it, Dave! It feels like the finest Manchurian Badger. I’ll be taking it for a spin tomorrow with the new razor. Looking forward to the shave!
