Hi Friends, here my Sunday Shave (21.03.2021) Straight Razor: Silberstahl Solingen // Soap: Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary // Brush: custom made Butterscotch // Aftershave: Truefitt & Hill 1805 Cologne // Music: Snowy White - Something on me Great shave again. The Straight Razor has been honed by a colleague of mine, with a Coticule and a Thuringian stone. The sharpness is top notch and it feels very gentle. The soap has a great scent and the Butterscotch brush made a lather party. The knot is an UOMO Fan with Gel like tips. Very nice. As Aftershave i used my 1805 cologne. It burned just a second or two and that was it. Together with the fantastic new Album of Snowy White the shave was very very good. This is it for now. Sotd Razor: gillette sheraton Blade: gillette wilkinson sword Brush: fuller reknot Soap: portus cale citrus, amber, cedar Post: lavender witch hazel A/s: citrus musk Better shave than yesterday. So the soap performed better today, but i also lathered it differently. So it does get creamer, but the slickness is about the same which is low. The brush is basic.. lol i used a cheap knot and it performs ok. The damn thing still smells like badger after all this time. Its like a fresh kill every time i use it.. the blade is still meh and definitely benefits from a slow short stroke versus long regular strokes. Repeat shave with the Filly. I noticed some chips and rust forming on the bevel after the last shave and took the edge pretty much all the way back. I’ve only freshened up blades before so I wanted to see how it shaved after my first and only rehone. Excellent shave so I’m pleased.
