This is around my 12th shave with a straight, Starting to fall into place now and really enjoying it. Was surprised that the GD is still holding a great edge despite my clumsy stropping. Gold Dollar (bought honed and shave ready - and it was!) NOS Culmak soap Yaqi synth Floid

7/8 Muschel Rubberset 200 Horse hair brush Viking No Scent Shaving Cream Creed Green Irish Tweed Put her on the strop while pre shave cream settled. A hot lather applied by the horse hair brush and she shaved through my whiskers like a hot butcher knife through melted butter. Very comfortable to hold. The blade glides nicely and is easy to control. Even the toe cleanly shaved under my nose with little effort. Glad I added her to my rotation.
Welcome @Lou61 -glad to have you with is! Tanifuji Spalding, cream was T&H lavender (why would a major manufacturer discontinue their lavender (and rose!) cream?) and a splash of SMN lavande finished up a great spring morning shave.
Saturday Straights' Shave Cold Water Rinse Vintage Life Licorice Shave Soap The Brush B-3 by Tom Fredrick Reynolds 5/8 CWR Pinaud Lilac Vegetal AS The Vintage Life Licorice Shave Soap lathered well with The Brush B-3 by Tom. Two passes and touch ups with the Fredrick Reynolds 5/8 razor blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Lilac Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Unknown maker kamisori, purchased from Alex Gilmore on the trip last year. His wife (who is Japanese) didn’t even know who made them. Soap was MdC agrumes lathered with a @Life2short1971 two-band, and Myrsol Limon finished things up
Could it be Shizu Saburo like mine? I am not that skilled in Japanese, but mine is bought as that name. Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
According to ‘Zwilling’ over at ATG, they have the mark of Kunitomo Ikkansai, an early 19th century gun maker! Alexsaid that they could be 1800s, and looks like that he was correct.

Today’s Early evening shave The Starter “Lux” razor Barbasol shaving cream Synthetic brush Old Spice aftershave I just touched up this blade on my new stone. Worked great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Beautiful blade. How does yours act, on strops?? The reason is because the ones I have, with intricately scrolled spines, like to dig into my Illinois 827 strop. Perhaps because the strop is a rough cut strop, and that has something to do with mine.
Thank you Scott. This one behaves nicely, no noticeable difference with the spine decoration. I’m using a well worn Tony Miller plain vanilla, seems pretty slick.
