By wonderful shave Jim. As a retiree, you can get by with a two pass. Hope the flooring came out to your and more importantly the missus’ liking.
The Above The Tie Windsor arrived today and since my early morning shave was preempted by a sunrise kayak paddle on the lake, I am glad I settled in for the 30 day focus today. One change - ATT shipped the razor with a box of Astra blades, so they will replace the Rapira. This razor competes admirably with any razor I currently have (Blackbird) or have had (Weber) and I don’t believe I can nick myself with this mild razor. Two easy passes and near bbs. I appreciate the weight and precision of this razor! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Danny....one more time with the Clubman Shave Cream to see if I can lose the squeaky sound it gives me.
Lovely photo, Troy! My wife and I have been talking about settling on a lake somewhere. Looks like you’re living the dream! Danny is a big ATT Fan! I’m glad the shave went well for you! Great shave kit!
Thanks, Joe! Right now the flooring is two large stacks of unfinished red oak. We're looking at a couple of weeks before it's done. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
Thank you. It was a little chilly, but what a peaceful way to start the day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Someday, I’ll live by water, but for now...I drove about 5 miles to this small urban lake. My girlfriend caught a couple of little trout there this morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you Joseph! Appreciated Jeff! I don’t know the process Drew uses….maybe @Keithmax or @JACarbone knows? I purchased my first DD from Keith long ago (it isn’t the razor used today though). I believe both Keith and Joe have examples of DD’s Damascus steel. Thank you so much Joe! Sincerely appreciated Danny! Thanks for the kind words Clint. February and March were tough. Hopefully April is a little smoother. Thanks so much Joe!
April 2nd RR .68 GameChanger Jaws APShave Silvertip / ‘21 MrEE LE Haslinger Schafmilch SS Thayers Dior Eau Sauvage AS A nice start to the month’s shaves earlier today. Evan’s brush is a winner for sure, and I like this beefy knot in it. Hadn’t used this GC in awhile and once you find the sweet spot, it is a smooth shaver. This soap is just a straightforward, quality product. The Eau Sauvage is awesome sauce as well. Have a great night all!
Friday's Shave RazoRock Game Changer .68 OC Bic Chrome Platinum (1) MrEE LE #015 w/ Maggard 2-Band Fan Badger Knot Timeless Lather Bowl Soap Commander Endurance Shaving Soap T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel Soap Commander Endurance Aftershave Some new items to use in today's shave. The Soap Commander Endurance soap/aftershave set is wonderful. I don't remember what the original Shulton Old Spice smelled like, but I really enjoy this interpretation of it. (I also bought the Stirling Spice Aftershave too which I've used in the previous two days' shaves). The Timeless bowl was added on the last order to help get free shipping and I have to say that it has exceeded expectations. Very sturdy and does a great job with helping work up the lather. The star of the show is the new MrEE LE #015 brush. Today was my second use of it and man can it work up a lather. The weight and feel of the handle is perfect and the knot choice was a wise one. Thanks, Evan @MrEE , for making such a great handle! In conclusion, I had a very relaxing early morning 2 pass shave with no irritation or mishaps. ***Note*** I'm not sure how much I'll be posting in the near future. Mom has taken a turn for the worse and is now bed ridden and basically unconscious (or just sleeping without waking). Wednesday, she started having constant seizures that lasted from 1:30pm until 7pm (they finally stopped after we got some Morphine, Keppra and Lorazepam into her system). We had a hospital bed delivered and it is placed in the downstairs living room. She is on a three hour interval for two of the meds and a 12 hour interval for the two other meds now. I have 20 separate alarms set on my Apple Watch to remind me to administer them on time to her. Two meds are liquid and easy to administer; aiming the syringe at the back of her cheek. The other two meds are in pill form, so I have to crush them, dissolve them in water and then suck them up into the syringe. Just another step. For the past two nights, I have "slept" in the recliner next to her so that I can wake up to give her the meds. She's also on full time oxygen now and that 10 liter compressor is really LOUD! So, I also have to keep a check on her O2 levels and pulse rate as well to report back to the nurse. I'm keeping a log and schedule of everything in addition to my daily journal. Prayers are appreciated. EDIT: Gratuitous left over lather shot...
Here is a video. I am not sure if it answers your question but does shed some light on the process Drew Dick uses to make his razors.
