    Thank you Jeff. The Masamune safety bar is very similar to the AS-D2 with a touch wider sweet spot. I would imagine it is very similar to a AS-D2 with a shim. The Open Comb base plate I used today is a big step up from the AS-D2 in face feel but still very smooth.
