April Focus MdC Fougère~~Simpson Astor~~RR Game Changer/Gillette Spoiler~~Nasomatto Absinth Good morning TSD! Yes, Primo's still focussed on finishing the MdC and, quite frankly, I am almost there! Today's Astor really was an exquisite experience. The Super Badger knot is baby soft and the handle is very picturesque. I stuck with the Game Changer, because it was just sitting there with the Spoiler already loaded. The Gillette blade is still very sharp and after 4-5 shaves is showing no signs of degradation. The 48 hour stubble was removed in three passes and left no irritation. I won't extol the virtues of this razor, having already done so. Easy shave. Picked a nice, woody fragrance for my FOTD® I'll try to curb my irresponsible behavior, although the scent is evoking some "bad-boy" thoughts.
Day 4 of the Rockwell mini focus. Rockwell 6S polished @ plate 6 Astra SP (5) Soap Commander Purpose shave soap (Bay Rum) Delrin Handle shave brush with synthetic knot Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum Aftershave splash Excellent lather this morning courtesy of the Soap Commander......good thick stuff. Awesome drama free three passes this morning. The Astra was still decent after 5 shaves but it is getting binned. A little witch hazel followed by the Clubby Bay Rum. I hope everyone has this great of a shave this morning. Y'all have a wonderful day.
Didn’t shave last night, but I did use my Welsh “dragon’s tongue”, and coticule stones to refresh two of my straight razors. The razors are a German double raccoon razor, and a small razor, called “the pipping”. No other markings are on the small one. I’m not sure right now, which razor will get the nod for tonight’s shave. It will probably be the double raccoon
HUMP DAY SHAVE Shavette Shave # 128 Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: Razor Retro Shavette Blade: Kai Captain Pro Titan Pro Touch MG Brush: Jayaruh 381 Badger/Boar Lather: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum Aftershave: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum Additional Care: Stirling Alum Block Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm Fabulous shave this morning. I definitely enjoy the Bay Rum scent. This particular Bay Rum is made without any cloves. I have stay away from shave soaps with a clove component, however, I did try the Stirling Bay Rum bath soap which has the clove in it. Turns out that I do not mind that scent either. I had my usual three pass shave with the shavette which has left me with a comfortably smooth face without any irritation. The scent of the PAA splash will be with me throughout the day, I enjoy sillage of all the PAA splashes in my den. The week marches on as we hit Hump Day with the YUTES. Hope you have a great day gentlemen.
Nice work, Andrew! I generally use a Naniwa 12k or my jasper for a touch up! Nothing like a great straight shave on a refreshed edge!
Upon further calculations, I think I got 10 shaves out of the Astra blade and while still smooth, it was a little harder to get a good shave yesterday so I changed to a Rapira this morning. Not quite as smooth but a clean shave nonetheless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Did you purposely reference that song because your lather looks like a cumulus cloud? GOL! Great shave Dave?
Awesome shave Joe! Maybe when you whittle down your inventory, you may want to try Stirling's Bay Rum SS. The matching aftershave lingers quite awhile. Have a great time with your students. I am off today.
