I could not for the life of me figure out what I wanted to use for tonight’s shave. I kept pulling out soaps, I loaded up my ugly duckling superspeed, and sniffed all the aftershaves. What a problem to have! I got quite a nice shave though. I love the scent of the Nuavia Verde, but it doesn’t perform the best for me. The razor wanted to skip and bounce on me and had a hard landing I thought for sure would be a bleeder. Luckily I was spared with just a little nick.

    Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/Asda Tingly Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears ~ Transparent Bar Soap With Mint Extracts. + Nuage Menthol shaving Oil.
    Brush: Chinese Unbranded Silvertip Fibre.
    Bowl Lather.
    Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather : Geo F Trumper Violet Shave Cream.
Blade: Indian Gillette Wilkinson Sword. (D4)
    Razor: Kanzy K100.

    Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezings, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 + Menthol Crystals. Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Aloe Vera Gel./Blue Stratos ASL.

    Greetings,

Last outing of the Indian Gillette Wilkinson Sword blade which has performed wonderfully with each shave throughout the week . What i like about the Kanzy K100 razor is, the balanced weight it's closed 'tech type head' which holds the blade rigidly which blade chatter is reduced to minimum with no blade over-hang which is very comfortable to shave with additional protection of catching my ear lobes or under my nose when shaving it gives a close presentable acceptable shave when paired together with the right blade choice.

Another enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing to the shave off with a generous splash of Blue Stratos ASL.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Thursday shave: 30DC related brush shaves continue with stylin' red MrEE brush from Evan. The knot is from Dscomsetic and is their 'gel' silvertip. Decided the red brush should be paired with stylin' Ed Brice straight who has red shoes. MdC with a touch of liquid lanolin always delivers. An excellent shave toped of with Dior Ambre Nuit.

    Razor: Autostrop A1
Blade: Despined Gem SS PTFE (1)
Brush: Brush of Shame #1 Timberwolf
    Soap: T&S Sicily 1508.5
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: T&S Sicily
    Fragrance: Mr. Burberry

Well a cold snap has been running thru these parts like most. Showing 27 degrees this morning and heading to the 50's but a warming trend is starting again. I got in a sought after A Style Autostrop. These were before they became Valet Autostrops and instead of the lever mechanism to lock the blade, there is a push button. I had been wanting one since learning of their difference and finally got this cased example for the princely sum of $12. I must say the shave was OUTSTANDING with the despined Gem SS Coated blade. It shaved so much smoother and closer than my "C" Models and I'm stoked to have 1 now. The 1508.5 continues and it will be close as to whether it is finished this month or edging into May. I need to consider which the next victim of 2021 will be to 1508.5. Long day today and tomorrow off to run my outlaw father to the VA in Lexington. Have a great day Y'all !!

    Lovely shave lineup John.

Top notch report and photo as usual Barry.

The MrEE brush and the Ed Brice Straight look like they were made for each other.

We got the same cold snap this morning as well. Very cool looking razor Dave. Have a safe and productive trip.

I went pretty minimalist with my shaving about 4 years ago and stopped buying everything I thought I wanted. After my separation and divorce last year, I started paying attention to my face pampering a little more and have really enjoyed it. But the reality is that this is shaving.

My prep rarely varies. Hot shower and face wash with whatever bar soap or body wash I have at the time. Face lather with a synthetic brush (I have 2 plisson style) and shave with the same razor for 1 week or so. Then finish with an aftershave.

This 30 day focus has improved on my already outstanding shaves. My brain tells me that the ATT Windsor razor gets credit but it also tells me that maybe it’s the Proraso cream and another part tells me that it’s because I am really focused on my daily shaves. But then another part says that I’m paying more attention to the entire routine, from start to finish, including wiping down the sink and counter and drying and wiping down my razor and brush every time.

In the end, I’m not sure it matters. I realize that I am minimalizing in more than just shaving and removing the attitude of excess from over 30 years of marriage to a hoarder.

Thank you gents for being so supportive of this simple act of self care we call wet shaving. It does more than remove whiskers!

Wonderful and thoughtful post Troy. I agree with you. The routine accomplishes more than just removing whiskers. Thanks for the reminder.

Happy Thursday Everyone. This week is flying by very quickly. I feel more behind now than when the work week started. Back to the La Toja shave cream. This tube seems to last forever but I think it is going down. The Semogue Galahad did a wonderful job face lather the La Toja. The tips on the brush are starting to split. This will be a great brush once its fully broken in. Three passes and touch ups ended an automatic BBS shave. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.
