Very nice collection for the relatively short time you’ve been at it.

I’ve thought about what I’d do if I wanted to be a minimalist.

    It would be......
    One DE, the Feather AS-D2
    One SE, the Supply
2 Shavettes, Feather DX & Focus Slim Al
Straights, I’d have to have about 7

Uh.......... who am I trying to kid? I’d never be able to do that.

Thanks, Danny! The original Lukas Electrics were a nightmare. My first TR was a TR4, so I was well acquainted withe the endemic electrical issues the car suffered from. I replaced the original wire harness with a Bosch harness in 1979, and the car’s run like a top ever since. I don’t drive it a lot, and have 43,000 original miles on it. The car color was unique to 1975 and was called French Blue. I won’t go into how difficult or expensive it was to source the original enamel paint and color. It took almost 10 years. I repainted the car in 2011, the year before my first wife died. She teased me on her deathbed that at least I’d still have one of my two original true loves after she passed. My second wife gets it. We like to go for rides on the backroads and eat at some of the many old tavern/restaurants in the area. I’m leaving the car to my oldest son. :)

It is, Andrew, but I’ve found that it’s much more difficult to get my 6’ 3” frame into and out of it than it was 45 yrs ago! ;)

I can not tell you how many times I almost bought a Suehiro Gokumyo 20k.

As of today I’m considered fully vaxed. Getting together will be fun.

She is a pretty ride. I have heard horror stories on the Lukas system but you have that taken care of. All cars have some idiocies. The shark style Vettes like mine are headlight vacuum systems, hot floorboards, squeaks and rattles but is a fun car. Enjoy baby blue this summer.

Thanks, Clint! I’m really impressed with the edge I can achieve on these Thistle Cut razors! :)

That’s amazing, Bill, although I know I’d never be able to do that. I’d have to include my Shake Sharp in the SE category, and my Silversmith in the DE. My DX is without doubt my favorite barber’s replaceceable blade straight razor, although we’ll have to see what I think of the new Tedalus! I do like AC and injector blades, so who knows? :)

I have a restored machinist toolbox and a faux Chinese medicine cabinet to store my straight razors. I keep them in silicon anti-rust sleeves and have silica gel packets in the drawers.

I have found similar, different razors prefer different finishing stones with the hardest steels matching well with the very hard finishers. A ride in your TR6 sounds like a great reward to me. I am curious to hear you about your experience with the 'bumby hone'.
