Last couple of shaves with the Lakeside Cutlery Army & Navy razor vacationing in PA from TX. Smoother than anything I paid to have honed. A great new target for my own work. Pieces like this are what keep straight shaving going. Simpson Super Badger brushes are extravagant in my mind, but I wanted one, so I bought an Emperor 2 a few years ago. Then kept wishing I had gotten the Emperor 3. I decided to fix that. I’m on a ‘No Buy’ for the Emperor 1, hope I can hold out. Delightful shaves.
No worries Danny! Being a logical and methodical guy, I just like to set the record straight. However, I have done the same thing as well.
Thanks Jeff! It was like winning a doubleheader using these two razors in one session. I have to say that ShakeSharp really gives easy BBS headshaves.
Very nice gear and pic Bill! I am at a point where I am satisfied with my collection for now. Other than restocking Personna Hairshaper and Injector blades, Nivea ASB and Pinaud/ Clubman AS, I am not looking to buy anything else.
Sunday shave and wrap up of the 30DC related brushes: The brush handle is from Jason and thought I should show the bowl I use for 95% of my shaves. The bowl was made by Jason and acquired in a trade for something I do not remember. Unless I am doing a hot shave or traveling this my shave bowl . The razor is a JWest, Atlas 6/8 near wedge. Most of the JWest razors I have come across are full hollow so this is an unusual one. It took me a couple of tries to get honed and now it is a silent assassin. I went for the AoS super lather, AoS tallow plus AoS cream and even a couple of drops of menthol to cool things off. An excellent shave followed with vintage Eau Sauvage. Monday back to work safety razor shave: I haven't used my Cobra Classic in a while so she got the call. Loaded with a Feather Pro it is my favorite safety razor, even above my 2011 R41. Decided to go the super lather route again, AoS tallow and DR Harris Arlington shave cream. The Arlington is one of my favorite scents and perfect for a spring day. A British brush to match the British cream, Kent BK-8, perfect for creams. An excellent shave followed with Tom Ford Italian Cypress.
Dave QUICKLY covers his eyes to protect future vision and hears loud commotion and screaming as Fuzzy treads across a pile of used DE blades laying on the floor
We were bored. You know how hunting is. You set the trap but never know what will fall into it. Sorry. Styptic is on the 3rd shelf in the cabinet on the left. Door #3........................Trust me
Monday April 26, 2021 Razor: GE Jones Shake Sharp Blade: Wizamet (7) Double Stacked Brush: SV 2.0 Bamboo Soap: T&S Sicily 1508.5 AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70 AS 2: T&S Sicily Fragrance: BVLGARI Aqva Amara Consecutive Daily Shaves - 901 The 1508.5 continues and is reaching a tipping point. The ring around the tub has lifted and broke. It has been mushed together into the tub again and appears to be close to being killed now. The GE Jones Shake Sharp is a razor that I had my interest raised in by Jeff @jgreenepa I'm thankful to have been directed to it and the double stacking of 2 de blades in it. Few if any can match it's combination of smoothness and effectiveness for me. Just an amazing shave today and in for a long one. Enjoy your day Everyone !

April 26, 2021 Yates 921 H Plate Feather ŌKU Botiho La Toja Shave Cream & Aftershave Happy Monday Everyone. I think the La Toja cream might be on its way out. I will keep using it at least twice a week until its done. After reading @Dave in KY SOTD with the Yates razor, I just had to put mine to use. Three passes and touch ups ended in an automatic drama free BBS shave. I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.
